Great for train enthusiasts
Sep. 2020
This is a must see for any train enthusiast. The displays were laid out nicely and unrestored as if they were retired from service and placed there. It was nice to read about the history of the railway network throughout Central BC.

Ride the Rail
Aug. 2018
I love this place. I often just take a ride in the summer by myself since my children have all grown up now. And you can buy Frozen Paddle ice cream right at the counter when you buy your ticket to ride.

A little sad
Aug. 2018 • Couples
This promised to be a fun afternoon out seeing some old railway engines and other attractions from the great era of railway.
Sadly, from the very entrance it all looked rather sad. Nothing was well maintained or well laid out.
We were really interested to see inside some of the old carriages, but they felt neglected and dirty. How would Charles and Diana feel now if they saw the carriage they went on?
The only highlight was the little station that had been re-erected on site. It was so interest g to see how the station master and his family would have lived, quite comfortably as it turns out!
Disappointing not to see more than one rusty engine on the site, except for the weird and wonderful “specialist” vehicles.
I’ll not be going for a return visit, sorry.

Rainy Day with Thomas
Jul. 2017 • Family
We took our grandsons (aged 4 and 19 months) to a Day with Thomas. We all enjoyed the displays and the boys enjoyed the games even though it was raining. It's worth the trip to experience a hands on idea of our past.

great way to spend an afternoon
May 2017 • Family
brought my parents here when they came to PG to visit. My dad is a big history bluff and loves old equipment and machinery. They both loved it - friendly staff, lots to look at, great way to spend a summer afternoon.

Good for all ages
May 2017 • Family
The museum is very hands on, from climbing into old engines and elegant rail cars to old fire equipment. There is an amazing collection of odd logging and rail cars, including rail snowplows and military stock transformed into logging equipment. A small railway takes fans of all sizes on a tour around. For the mechanical or train buff, this must be heaven. Located right at Cottonwood Park, a good walking and picnic venue. It could use more funding to preserve the stock, but the grounds are well kept. The cost of admission is moderate.

Tourist stop
Apr. 2017 • Family
We so enjoyed almost two full hours touring this Railway & Foresty Museum. As my father in-law worker as a dispatcher for CP Rail for over 35 years this stop filled in a lot of blanks for me when listening to dad's rail stories. Thank you to the City of Prince George and the museum for maintaining at part of Canada's history for all to see.

Small but interesting
Jul. 2016 • Family
This museum is interesting for both adults and children. It has a model railroad set up inside that small children enjoy and then outside are the old engines, coaches, snowplows, etc. that people can walk through. The admission price is reasonable. There is also a small train that takes children and adults around the grounds on (for a small price). It is a good place to take children as is fun and educational.

My child didn't want to leave!
Sep. 2016 • Family
This place is so much fun to visit! We took 2 rides on the little train and went through a tunnel and over a little bridge.
I really didn't think my 4 yr old would want to stay once we did the ride but was I ever mistaken. He had so much fun climbing in the trains and other vehicles. We were there for hours.
Don't go expecting to find everything restored because you'll be disappointed. Everything is old and rusty and ready to be explored.
Look forward to going back next time we are in PG!
