The fishing experience with Thunder1 was first class. Doug and Deb are genuinely wonderful people. You feel welcome from the moment the trip starts right through until it ends. The meals are outstanding as is the fishing instruction, local knowledge and support throughout the trip. Staying on the boat amongst the quiet bays at night is special and takes relaxing to another level. Thunder 1 offers all of the comforts of home in a warm, cozy atmosphere.
It’s no wonder so many clients return many times over. Highly recommend this trip for great fishing, scenery and hosts that truly care about your experience.
Thanks Doug and Deb for an awesome time.

Just returned home from an amazing family vacation. It’s been a challenge finding a vacation that interested all of us (2 sons in early 20’s, hubby and myself) but this trip exceeded all our expectations - and trust me when I say I was NOT a fishing person by any stretch prior to this. I know when my boys can’t wipe the smiles off their faces that the trip is a resounding success. Doug and Deb are fabulous hosts and guides. Thunder 1 is a fantastic, well appointed boat with everything you need/want. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone as Doug and Deb clearly adapt to your needs and wants on the fly, using their expertise and experience in the area to provide you with the trip of a lifetime. Would love to make this an annual event!

Deb & Doug looked after us like we were royalty. From the time we boarded the boat to the time we left all our needs were looked after. Deb put on meals that were second to none and looked after the bridge while Doug looked after the back of the boat while fishing. They both have incredible patience and a great sense of humor. Even while handling double headers when fishing lines were getting tangled with each other and in the down riggers they still managed to stay positive and laugh about it. My wife Jill and I went with another couple that are our friends and we all limited out on Coho & Halibut, that being said it would have been just as fun with half the limits. We saw Porpoise / Humpback Whales & Bald Eagles to name a few. This is the fourth time for me on this charter and would not hesitate to book again.

I am so glad my husband convinced me to finally accompany him on one of his many Thunder 1 Adventures fishing trips. Deb and Doug could not have been more welcoming or professional. They obviously love their endeavor and have spent countless hours honing their craft. We enjoyed hours of fishing and story telling but also were allowed private time. Beware ladies, bring your stretchy pants as Deb's culinary skills are beyond compare! Thank you so much, Doug and Deb, for such a memorable and enjoyable trip!

Second time with Thunder 1 Adventures and to be honest I can’t believe we waited this long to go again.
Literally the best northern coast experience you can imagine. From the stunning scenery to the excellent meals and the fishing …it was hot and when it slowed a bit Doug would pivot to a different bait or area and the bite would be back on. 4 in our group and we ALL limited out for fish.
Finally Deb and Doug are just down to earth decent folk that go the extra mile to ensure a positive experience. Debs cooking is seriously unreal ( more chowder pls 😉)
Their attention to detail is excellent and Doug has great patience when the occasional down-rigger would not get retrieved or a line or two crossed and we lost fish ( sorry Doug) . Yes be prepared for doubleheaders 👍👍
We had great weather but the boat has a fully enclosed heated area in the back so if it’s raining you still can fish comfortably .
The best part is not having to bust out and back every morning and afternoon to get to the fishing grounds …, you just kick back have a nice breakfast and it’s time to catch fish
A great charter was had and we’re making plans to repeat again

We had a group of 5 out for three nights. An experience like no other! A relaxing, comfortable four days on the water. Doug is incredibly knowledgeable, and shares that with you. He had us on the fish steady, and entertained with great stories and information. Deb is incredibly kind and happy lady. The food was AMAZING! We were spoiled! Boat so smooth and waters were calm the whole way. We played cards in the enclosed lounge area when moving from spot to spot. Bucket list item for me, and so glad we picked Thunder 1!

Four well travelled friends from across Canada gathered for three nights, four days on Thunder 1.
We had comfortable accommodations on board, enjoyed every meal and experienced good fishing in incredible surroundings. Deb and Doug are a rare team, providing expert service and warm hospitality at every turn. Highly recommended by everyone in our group.

Doug and Deb looked after us so well that other hosts/guides , food, knowledge of the area, although good, pale in comparison to that of Thunder 1 Adventures. We limited out on coho and halibut, enjoyed crab and prawns as well as Debs fabulous cooking saw bald eagles up close and personal - it just goes on and on. Not our first time and certainly not our last on Thunder 1. Thank you.

Fantastic 4 days on the Thunder 1. The boat did not feel crowded with two couples plus Deb and Captain Doug. We had great weather and hooked our limit of Coho. Plus we caught our limit of Halibut. Including one 65 lb halibut caught by my wife. The beautiful thing about the liveaboard trip is you spend way more fishing and way less time pounding it out and back to the fishing grounds. Doug and Deb know all the best spots around Rupert. No matter the weather they find a nice quiet place to anchor every night. Will go again if they will have us!!

We spent a memorable 12 days aboard Thunder 1 while completing a forestry research project. Lovely boat, magnificent scenery and the best meals ever. Doug and Deb are consummate hosts. They were attentive and fun and their knowledge of all things north-coast BC was impressive. The entire trip was flawless.
