Two of my daughters and I went out on a one day charter with John of Blackfeather a Boston Whaler. It started slow with only one rock fish and a bait fish caught. But John knew we wanted halibut as two of the three of us have never caught halibut before. Well dad caught the fisrt one, too small and returned him to get bigger. It was a tough call, we were there to catch halibut and we threw the first one back. The magic worked. We ended up limiting out on halibut, caught a rock fish and a whack of pacific cod. Pcod or grey cod. When we got home found out we basically brought home the cost of the charter, tip and processing (at Dolly's) in fish at the local supermarket price. Boy was it ever an adventure. Already planning the next one. Except next time dad is not catching the smallest fish.

We have used this company for 3 years and have had a really good fishing experience usually getting our limits for salmon and halibut. This year in 2017 the salmon run had been light up to first week of July but our skipper found us our limits on salmon and we had the best halibut fishing ever. The boat is clean and well maintained. The fishing equipment is first class.

This is a small 1 boat company but the boat is well maintained and kept spotlessly clean. Good for up to 4 people but probAbly better with three. Guide was professional and concerned about safety and gave an excellent briefing before we got going. Fishing tackle was well maintained for both down rigging and bottom fishing. Guide knew where to find fish and gave us options such as whether we wanted to fish for large salmon or get our quota of salmon with smaller sized fish. Same experience for 2 years and we will go back again next year. Guide cleaned all the fish.

Bought this charter through a fundraising auction and added an extra day. Jeff honoured the auction purchase with accommodating the dates that worked for us. Fishing with spent with John as our guide and cannot ask for a better guy, he was very knowledgeable, easy going, and put on some great fishing. We came home with plenty of Salmon and halibut for the freezer. With this being the first time ocean fishing I didn't expect this much fun! I will definitely be booking with Blackfeather again!

This year will be my fourth trip with Blackfeather. Jeff and Fred are both great guys to fish with. We have never been out and not caught fish, in fact every trip I have been on I have been so sore on returning from fishing that I can hardly lift my beer at the end of the day. We have always caught Halibut, Cod and Salmon. Would I recommend a days fishing and fun with Blackfeather......... you bet.
