About
Fiercely independent RED Mountain Resort delivers 3,850 acres of pristine skiing, putting us in Top 10 terrain territory in N. America. With a new chairlift on Topping Creek, the skier flow and access to Grey Mountain is streamlined along with an additional 7 incredible intermediate runs over 300 acres of terrain. We really pride ourselves on fresh turns you don't have to fight for—that’s why we claim “#1 Acres Per Skier”! Your RED adventure now offers a wider range of ski-in/ski-out accommodations: modern condos with private hot tubs; The Constella, our new mid-mountain cabins; a design-driven modern hostel a snowball’s throw from the lift; and an independent boutique hotel, The Josie, at the base that boasts incredible dining and cocktail options. With 300” of annual snowfall, epic vertical (2,919ft/890m!), wide-open groomers, 360-degree descents, IKON Pass access, a rich tradition, and—phew! the BEST tree runs in BC, is it any wonder RED was voted “Most Underrated Resort” by Skiing

We had 2 1/2 days of fabulous snow and skiing on this mountain. It was our first time here and we loved everything about it. The mountain is a quick 8 minutes from the town of Rossland. Parking is free and right at the base of the lodge. There are lockers outside, but everyone leaves their things in either the cubbies in the coffee shop or in the base lodge restaurant. They offer free tours of the mountain at 9am and 1 pm. My husband took the intermediate tour and I did the beginner tour with Sue. I highly recommend doing this first thing. The mountain is large and it was great to get insight on where to go and the best way to navigate the terrain. We ate at the Constella Clubhouse our first day- pretty little place and then the 2nd day at the Paradise Lodge. They are near each other and are accessed by the Paradise Lift. Even though the lifts are all slow, we still managed to get in a lot of vertical because we rarely waited in a line. Rafters after skiing for a drink and snack is also a must. Great vibe.
We rarely stay at the base of the mountain, but there are very few places to stay in Rossland. We will make an exception next time we visit.

Red Mountain is truly a hidden gem. I love that there are no lift lines and no crowds. We skied here for five days and had a blast! Fun tree skiing. My favorite tree runs were off of Motherlode and the Grey lift. We skied at least 15k feet each day even with the super slow lifts. If you are looking for a village type resort like Whistler, then go to Whistler. Red never disappoints.

An amazing day on Red... 10 cm of powder down by 6:00 am and it didn't quit snowing till noon... not too crowded even on the Saturday... Three mountains Red, Granite and Gray Mountains... all have excellent glades and some challenges steeps... Paradise Lodge is neat place on the hill to have a bite and/or beverage. Red is a true mountain for skiers with no shortage of challenge and the basic amenities for apres ski at the base... the town of Rossland is a trendy little ski town with some excellent restaurants just down the road..... highly recommend giving this place a go..... cheaper, deeper and steeper ... go to luv it..

Huge terrain options. Good snow. No lift lines. Unique on-hill cabin culture.

A big part of my rating is also due to the excellent customer service. I was particularly impressed with the central reservations team who went above and beyond. Thanks!

Despite the poor snow this year, I was very impressed with the terrain at Red Mountain. Steep runs, lots of chutes and stashes, long runs and a vast mountain with a big vertical drop. All fixed grip lifts which adds to the charm and the ability to rest the legs before the next quad burner. Red is a hidden gem that I will be back to further explore!

The biggest West Coast 2-step, is selling snake oil as medicine! Land and Real Estate have become the 21st Century snake oil. Having a Resort with ZERO amenities, is akin to the charmer of the 19th Century. Hustled to buy inflated prices, unsuspecting “transplants” find themselves in a Culture/Food/Spa/ desert that has NOTHING for families and has minimal delivery to segregated AirBnB/ Second Home renters, packed together like sardines! Disney inspired Nature and a neglected ski culture lets the overcharged tourist know they have been CHEATED! Smallest ski season ...Largest lift price for the benefits!

Red grew on us. Early in the season, it seems difficult to ski in the trees, but if you stay for an entire season you learn so much about the mountain, the trees, the rocks, and you will end successfully skiing through tight trees. Highly recommend to take lessons at Fall Line, the resort´s ski school, they are excellent.

We stayed here for 4 nights in July/August. It was in the middle of a heat wave 30-37 degree temps. We were a bit shocked that the unit had no A/C. Luckily, we spent most days out of the condo, and with all doors and windows open it cooled down enough at night to sleep. The slope side view would be amazing but for the parked ski resort equipment and dump trucks parked a eye level. We would also have liked a bbq but otherwise the space was comfortable and spacious.

Big mountain, with plenty of great terrain for all abilities. Yes the lifts are slow, very slow so dress warm. In area cat skiing was a great adventure for only 10 bucks.
Long way to travel, but worth it
