We just got back from kayaking at Salt Spring Island with Salt Spring Adventure Co. We were in the area and contacted SS Adventure almost impromptu. It was still very early in the season and it was by appointment only. Zoe was nice enough to oblige despite no prior booking and very last minutes phone call. The morning that we got out on a tandem kayak, the weather wasn’t good and we were quite disappointed. Wyatt was very encouraging: don’t like the weather, wait a few mins, he said. And he was so right, our apprehension turned to delight as the sun was coming out more and more. Wyatt gave us a very good orientation about the kayak ( we kayak many times before but not skilled ), he gave us a map and showed us where to go and the average paddling time. We were going to go for two hours but we were having so much fun we returned almost four hours later. We paddled to the chocolates beach. We had a picnic there, walk around the island, sat on the swing, took lots of pictures. On the way back we stopped at another small island. We saw cormorant, great blue heron, lots of seabirds, seals, two playful otters and plenty of colourful starfish. We picked up one motionless starfish thinking it was dead but one hour later it moved so we had to return it back to the sea. Awesome, fun and even romantic day for an old couple, only seeing a whale / orca will top that.

We did a sunset kayak tour and had the best time. Our tour guide was Wyatt and he was incredible. Super personable and knowledgeable, and we had a lot of good laughs. My husband and I didn't have a ton of kayak experience but the tour went at a pace that was perfect for us. If we come back we will absolutely do it again! Thanks for the wonderful experience!

Me and my partner rented 2 Electric Bikes from Salt Spring Adventure Co on Thursday September 03. The staff were very friendly and helpful getting us acquainted with the bikes and giving us route information on where to go and some things that we should see. Prices were good as well and had a great outdoor experience with the bikes, no problems at all and made it back in one piece mostly 😂 . Overall great time though and would recommend as a way to see the island for the outdoorsy types.

What a great way to start our vacation on Salt Spring! Being stuck in a tandem kayak with the wife for 3 hours...I mean no matter how hard I paddled I couldn’t get away from her! All kidding aside we chose this company for their variety of tours and great pricing. The bonus was the great tour guide we got - Jamie! She’s from Ontario, but we didn’t even hold that against her! She was fun, polite, professional and patient! I mean she put up with us... We had never kayaked at night - not seen the bioluminescent - ever. Well, my wife had somewhere without me, but she’s never without me so she must be lying ...I mean we are ATTACHED in this tandem boat even ... We did lose our rudder on the way back - and well, we did kinda see WHY they call the tandem kayaks the ‘divorce boat’ but all I had to do was yell ‘FREE BEER BACK AT THE MARINA’ and the wife was a power paddler and if was like there was a motor on this thing ... Back in shore we decided to sign up for another tour - this time for 5 hours ...I think I’m getting my own boat then :) Highly recommend this company! Now ...the wife is still at the bar and trying to figure how to drink beer through a mask.. I gotta go save her from water boarding herself ... (PS - the one photo in here is touched up to highlight the color - but the bioluminescent IS amazing!)
