The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is that we launched our boats out of an extremely muddy Bay instead of off a dock or beach. I would recommend water booties! We arrived on the wrong date but Island Escapades was extremely flexible and squeezed us in to the kayaking trip anyway! We did a tour to chocolate... More

Thanks for the review and we are glad you enjoyed the trip. Just so you know, our location is on a beach which is on a estuary. You were most likely there during a low tide that has just dropped. In this case we carry down all the boats to the waterline and all guests are asks or recommended to... More

We were so glad we went with a guide - his knowledge on the history of the islands, and of the flora and fauna, made the experience so rich and interesting. We did the three hour tour, and it was perfect! Our guide brought tea and cookies for us to enjoy on Chocolate Beach. We went at the end of... More

Recently did the Chocolate Beach paddle with my husband under direction of guide Daniel. Fantastic learning experience all about the islands, the wildlife and way of life on 'island time'. Highly recommend!

This is an enjoyable tour (of Chocolate beach) The pace was reasonable and the guide knowledgeable and fun. We saw seals, eagles, osprey but sadly, no starfish. The folks here are very accommodating and helpful; I highly recommend.

While on Salt Spring Island with my partner and parents, we decided to go sea kayaking. We all had various levels of experience with kayaking, and thought we could just rent boats and go putter around in the harbour - in the past I have done this several times on nearby Mayne Island. Unfortunately we discovered that Island Escapades would... More

Big thanx to Island Escapades for a great day and for accommodating all 10 of us after the other local kayak company "accidently" cancelled our trip. Thanks to the owner and Cass and Nathan. Your knowledge of the island was fascinating and the cookies and tea were a greatly appreciated ! Amazing customer service

We were booked on the Chocolate a Beach kayak tour but because it was so windy and the sea was choppy, we had to go to a nearer beach. Our guide, Linda was first class. We were all apprehensive about going out but she made you feel like you were in safe hands. We were all given a brief lesson... More

As soon as we entered the store, we were warmly welcomed by owner and kayak guide, Jack. He was extremely thoughtful and attentive to our needs as he provided us boots to walk our kayak across the muddy shoreline and all the essential gear to make our kayak rental a success. Jack pointed out an amazing route and put us... More

The main reason that this place is so great is that it's owned by Jack Rosen, one of the most experienced kayak guides in the area and one of the most accomplished kayakers in the world. This fine fellow things nothing of hoping in his kayak and paddling up to alaska, like 800 miles north of her up the inside... More
