Thank you Graham for an amazing day on the water. Your knowledge, skill, and genuine excitement for what you do shines bright. Ive never seen anyone launch from their seat so fast when a fish jerks the rod. Christine and I enjoyed being with you. Next time we will do 8 hours instead of 6 as we enjoyed every minute.

We had a great half day with Brin. No luck with salmon but then went out further and caught some lingcod. Brin made us rookie fishermen feel super comfortable. Can’t wait to get back out with Brin again soon.

Hi guys
Thanks for the feedback. It was a pleasure spending time with you out on the water and we are stoked you had some fantastic sea monsters to go home with! Looking forward to seeing you again sometime soon. 😎✌️#tofino #tourismtofino

Had a great time with captain Brin! He was very knowledgeable about the waters we were fishing and overall an amazing captain who cares so much about the health and safety of the crew. The fishing was a little slower that day so he took us crabbing for the last hour of the trip and we limited out on big Dungeness crab! I’ve lived on the coast my whole life and never seen that good crabbing before. Overall amazing trip and can’t wait to go out again!

I live on the west coast, but because I work nights at one of the resorts. I do not get out much. A chance came up to go out with a group from work. This was the first time that I went out fishing in about 7 or more years. We brought along 2 crab traps and strategically placed them. Then we went on a 30 minute ride to a place were they had been catching fish. We had not been trolling long before I caught my fish. For me, the size was not the concern. It was a fish. Others in the group caught fish. A couple were too small to keep. We then traveled back to the crab traps. One trap had a couple of keepers. The other trap was empty. Captain Brin then took us to watch an eagle show us how fishing is done. This was a wonderful trip, good company and lots of fun. I would recommend.

Just finished a tour with Brin the owner that included crabbing, finishing, whale watching and wildlife. It was glorious, especially for February in Tofino. It was warm and sunny with hardly any wind. We cruised around Vargas island enjoying craft beers. Visited a secret fishing sport for a spell and trapped 6 dungeness. Brin is a chef so he showed us how to steam up fresh crab on a portable BBQ. Such a memorable and special day.

Myself and my boyfriend were visiting Tofino for a couple of days. My boyfriend is an avid fisher at home.
We realised the salmon don't run properly until later in the season but we just wanted to get out fishing for some enjoyment, catching a fish would have being an added bonus.
We realise Tofino gets some storms but we are from the west coast of Ireland and the water during our Winters can be frightful.
We went out on Wednesday the 18th. It was an overcast day and the water was choppy. We didn't realise how choppy until we went out. We couldn't stand up on the boat and did not touch a fishing rod in the five hours we were out. The swells got pretty big and we had to go in early. On the way back in we were gripping onto the boat for dear life. There was absolutely no enjoyment in the outing. We have being on plenty of fishing charters but never had an experience like this.
It was a rough five hours. Would not recommend.

We had a great time on the tour and the tour guide was great. We had a major issue with the price, however, and while this does not reflect poorly on the actual trip, it did make our overall experience stressful. I emailed Brin to book the trip, and he quoted me a specific price. Everything was fine until right after our tour when I noticed on my credit card statement that I was charged much more ($600 more to be exact) than I was quoted. I tried to communicate with him and told him that he quoted a completely different price, and even showed him the emails. He was unsympathetic and in the end said that he would give us a credit for our next trip - we are tourists from the other side of Canada and likely will not visit for a long time. I just wanted a refund, and he refused. Now I have to take it up with my credit card, and it has caused a huge hassle. Like I said, the tour was good, but there are tons of other companies that you can choose to go with in Tofino - my recommendation is to go with one of those!

Hello Sergio and Maria,
We are happy to hear you and your family had a great experience on your tour.
However, we were sorry to read of the misunderstanding regarding your quote. We had originally quoted you our standard inclusive rate of $145 per hour with a four person max as stated on our on website. However, your group had 7 guests total which warrants a price increase as per our company policy. We do this to cover the cost of additional fuel and added responsibility placed on our staff.
We take pride in insuring our guests are provided a high level of service and care before, during and after each tour.
Despite the tour having been completed in good form we wish to re-invite you and your family for another complimentary tour along with a $300 rebate for the inconveniences that may have arisen out of this situation. We are hopeful you will reconsider our offer and perhaps next summer we will get another opportunity to share more of what Tofino and the surrounding areas have to offer. Take care and all the best.

What a fantastic experience! Brin couldn’t have been better with communication before, during and after our trip. Such a friendly and positive guy:) Our boat captain Jon was exceptional! my family can’t thank him enough for all of the things that we got to experience because of his amazing boat driving skills, info on the animals and area and truly just being such an awesome guy❤️( he has an eagle 🦅 friend, I mean seriously.... the coolest)
We went to hot springs cove, which included a hike through the gorgeous rainforest. Caught 4 perfect crab and watched otters, sea lions wild cows and eagles do their thing🤗🤗🤗🤗 afterwards we had dinner at 1905 restaurant where we ate our catch for dinner. What a seriously awesome day! Thank you thank you thank you so much ❤️🌷🤗

Hey guys! Sounds like a fantastic day out there! We are so happy you were happy. Those Dungeness crab are our favourite and what a great place to dine there at the resort after a spectacular day on the water. Looking forward to seeing you again soon perhaps this summer season? All the best.

Brin appears to be a decent guy, but there were some issues that were bit disquieting. I initially booked a charter for myself, son and grandson for a Monday morning. A very short while later I found out that my grandson would not be available for that day. I requested a change to the Sunday and Brin graciously accommodated this. When the time came for Brin to take the final balance on my credit card I learned that the charge was at least $200 more than I had expected even though I had already mentally calculated in the taxes. First, I learned that we were being charged more per hour because we had now been assigned to a "larger' boat. There was also a 3.5% fee for using a credit card and there was a fuel tax. I am not complaining about these charges per se. My displeasure is that none of this was disclosed at the time of booking. When I discussed the higher than expected charge with Brin I only expressed surprise. I did not quibble about the charges. Brin offered that we could do a 5 hour charter instead of a 6 hour charter as originally booked to reduce the overall cost. I took this option. Had he disclosed the charges initially I would have accepted them and made the 6 hour booking willingly. Later the evening before the planned morning departure I received a message from Brin indicating that since it was a reduced time we would start an hour later rather than getting out when catching is a higher likelihood at an earlier hour. During the charter it was noted by all of us that Brin was more interested in his satellite radio selections than he was in observing us and the rods. We also wasted considerable time dragging weeds despited repeated line retrievals and seeing what was happening. Eventually, he adjusted the depths to avoid this. At one point Brin bounced the cannonball along the bottom eventually getting hung up. Time was then spent rethreading the down rigger because there was a lot of broken line in the mechanism that had to be dug out. We caught one good sized Chinook and Coho. We also caught 1 rock fish. There were 3-4 lost fish on the retrievals. Brin only changed spots one time. On previous charters with other guides, we would change up locations several times to locate fish resulting in many more hits and landed fish. I do not want to trash Coastal Charters as this was a one off experience and maybe this was an unusual booking experience. I did, however, feel that it warranted being posted.

Great fishing and crabing. Brin is a very friendly guide. He helped us make the most out of our time in Tifino.

Hi Karen,
Sure we can arrange a 4 hour tour for you. Are you currently in Tofino or was there a particular date you had in mind for your tour? Perhaps we could connect this morning for a chat via telephone and I can answer any questions you may have.
