We joined Tana and 3 other guests aboard the traditional hand carved canoe, and had a wonderful time. Tana had great knowledge and shared some lovely songs with us, as we drifted along in the slow moving ebb and flow tides. We came on shore at Meares Island and walked the trail, and Tana pointed out alot of ecological features... More

A magical tour full of information about the First Nations culture, stories and observations of the forest and ocean. Loved paddling the cedar canoes.

We booked the interpretive hike for Schooner Cove trail. Our guide was Tsimka, who comes from the local Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation. Tsimka gave a terrific cultural orientation to the local Aboriginal history, the contemporary context for the First Nations in the area, and great information about the forest trees and plants and ocean area. Very glad we did this hike... More

Did a paddle board surfing session in January 2017. A slow time of year in Tofino with no crowds and on this day really nice generally mild weather with waves not to big for a newbie paddle-board surfer. Emre the instructor was excellent and provided quality guidance and encouragement during the session even though I fell off the board a... More

My wife and I booked two excursions through T'ashii - stand up paddle boarding and the Meares Island canoe tour. The SUP was a really great way to spend a couple of hours. The inlet where we paddled was perfect for us as beginners and shallow enough to avoid my wife being afraid (she's not an overly strong swimmer). The... More

My husband and I, along with another couple went out with our guide, Marika in an authentic First Nation canoe. Marika is of First Nation heritage and we gained a great deal of knowledge from her. She wisely realized that none of us was strong enough to paddle to Meares Island so we paddled to other areas not so far... More

Great way to learn something about the local First Nations culture while paddling through the beautiful setting of Clayquot sound. Our guide sang to us.... A song about the orca whale... A memory that will live long in my heart and mind

The Meares Island Canoe Tour is not to be missed! They go out at different times everyday, depending on the tide. We made a reservation in advance online and received an email confirmation, very organized. Our tour departed at 8:30 am. What a glorious quiet morning to be paddling surrounded by such beautiful landscape! Our guide, Tana, was excellent. Tana... More

Myself and 3 of my friends took the 2 hour SUP paddleboard inlet tour with Emre. We were having a pretty brilliant time up until that point, but this was fantastic. Emre was a great teacher, funny, very knowledgeable about the topography of the area and remarkably tolerant of our probably quite inane and/or ridiculous lines of questioning. We were... More

We booked a canoe for me, my husband & 8 year old son with T'ashii Paddle School before a trip to Tofino. We were met by Tanna, our guide, who gave us instructions on how to use the paddles. We shared the tour with a couple from California so there were 6 of us in the canoe, which had been... More
