We did the four hour rainforest tour which included 40 minutes on Meares Island (Big Tree Trail). Our tour guide, Alec, was awesome, very knowledgeable, good storyteller, stopped just the right amount to give us information, and made the excursion for me. The Big Tree Trail is extremely cool and a must see. The management was also understanding when one of our friends couldn't honour his reserved spot due to an injury he sustained surfing the prior day. Thanks Alec & team!

We did the 2.5 hr islands tour and we loved it. We had a small group with Alec as our guide, and we appreciated the attention he gave to everyone in the group. He was super knowledgeable and very friendly, the whole tour was just great from start to finish. We never felt in any great hurry, and it was so relaxing just paddling through the islands, but so thrilling to be doing it at the same time. For the timeframe we had and our experience level, this tour was the right length for us, but I would like to try one of the longer tours if we visit Tofino again. The first thing I did after the tour was message friends who were about to visit Tofino, and suggest they book onto one of the tours with this company, I would highly recommend it.

We had an amazing 4 hour paddling adventure with our capable and professional guides, Alex and Kate.

We left Ucluelet harbour and headed out to the rugged coastline of Barclay Sound with distant views of the Broken Islands. We encountered increasing winds, gusting to 20 knots but felt comfortable under the adept direction of our two cheerful and vigilant guides!

We would highly recommend this touring company who provided a seemless and very enjoyable maritime experience.

We joined the Meares Island Rainforest tour and went sea kayaking from Tofino with an excellent guide (Sam) who is studying to become an Oceanographer (very knowledgeable for all of our questions!). There were 360 degree views of snowcapped mountains, green-blue waters, ancient forests, colorful boats and islands dotting the landscape. Eagles were soaring high above and seals playing and splashing nearby. Landing the kayaks at Meares Island, we walked through the rainforest on a raised boardwalk, listening to stories about the land and history, checking out salamander eggs and gawking at the giant cedar trees all around us. It was pure magic! We'd never sea kayaked before and found it was really easy to learn, and had a great time.

We (2 adults) did a multi-day trip with Paddle West Kayaking, and had a fabulous experience! Our guides, Sam and Cameron were highly professional and skilled in guiding us through the currents and wind patterns of the Tofino waters, and they clearly have a wide knowledge of the waters and marine life in this area, which added so much value to our experience. The meals were hot and wonderfully tasty. The scenery, kayaking, and beaches we experienced We had a memorable trip and will without a doubt do further trips with Paddle West.

We went on a guided tour of Clayoquot Sound and Meares Island on April 27th! It was our first time sea kayaking, and our guide (Jess) was an absolute gem and helped us through any tricky bits while providing enough mini breaks. Both of us are also extremely prone to seasickness, and I am relieved to say it wasn't an issue for either of us. We saw many seals pop their faces out from the water (so cute!), more eagles than we could count, and many colourful starfish and crabs. Having the chance to see wildlife without being on a loud large vessel was a treat in itself. We enjoyed the little Meares Island walk to the Tree of Life too, just watch your step on the boardwalk. We recommend wearing an outfit that is as rainproof as possible, and specifically keeping the cuffs of your jacket tight if it's cool out (the seawater will drip down from the paddle). I apologize for my (lack of) photography skills, and I promise the experience was oodles more magical than what my photos show.

This was the most memorable part of our Tofino Trip. We were a family of 5 and did the Rainforest Kayak tour. Our guide was Mary-Anne. She was enthusiastic, patient, super knowledgeable and fun. The whole experience was professional and without any hiccups. From signing up, to getting outfitted, to launching our Kayaks, it was perfect. The views are spectacular, you can travel at your own pace, and Mary-Anne was great at filling us in about all the stops along the way. Pack for the weather, but keep in mind, once you're out paddling, it gets warm. I wore a t-shirt, packed a rain jacket, and kept it in my dry bag (they supply) which you can keep right in front of you in case you need it. The rainforest hike through the old growth forest is spectacular.
Thanks to Ryan and the team for a wonderful day.

We did a multi day paddle out of Tofino with Cam and Morgan as our guides. Everything surpassed my expectations! The food with delicious, healthy, fresh and lots of variety and some of the best desserts I've had on a paddle trip. Both our guides were professional, personable and went above and beyond to make sure our group was having a great experience. PaddleWest equipment was also top notch making it all that much more enjoyable. From the initial contact with Ryan at PaddleWest to the final day on the water it all went like a dream. I can't recommend Ryan and Paddle West highly enough. And you are in the most beautiful area of the world. . . .

Fantastic 2 1/2 hours, Katy was full of information and had eyes like the many eagles we saw and heard, when she spotted a bear along the shore at 600m away. Uclulet harbor was serene and even my 7 year old back paddling and rocking our boat could not break the vibe of tranquility. Thanks Katy for an awesome afternoon!
