Second Beach is located along the western shore of Stanley Park and, much like Third Beach, is part of the Seawall system. As such, the beach is accessible via walking and motor car. If choosing to arrive with the latter, Second Beach does have (pay) parking available and its lot is much larger than the one found at Third Beach.
The actual beach is fairly small and, in my view, nothing special (I think I’ve been spoiled by beaches elsewhere). Instead, I think the real attraction here is the fenced and heated family pool, which is open from May to September. At the time of our visit, the pool was closed and being enjoyed by many a fine Canada Goose.
At day’s end, Second Beach is probably a nice spot to take a break from one’s Seawall adventure; however, I’d hesitate to call it a destination in itself. The beach is pretty standard and likely gets crowded during the hot summer months.

Second Beach is bigger than Third Beach. It is sandier, and is far more inviting. The big pool is the significant "big kid on the block" in the immediate area.
Second Beach has concession stands and other necessities of civilized life.

The heated pool gets most of the attention, but there is more to see and do. In addition to barbecue pits parking, volleyball, etc., the hiker/biker will appreciate the public washrooms and the concession stand.

We came to this beach on a rainy winter day, so it didn't look all that impressive. It's in a nice location though, being nestled amongst the sprawling grounds of Stanley Park. There are toilets, sheltered tables and chairs and rubbish bins close by.

A small and crowded beach close to Downtown Vancouver. It is next to pool which seems to be popular for families. Public toilets and you can rent bikes and geht something to eat and to drink. If you like nature and are looking for a peaceful place with a nice views you should prefer another beach

2nd beach is a relatively short walk from English bay. You can walk along the sea wall, counter clock wise and you will get to second beach in about 10 to 15 minutes.
There is a heated outdoor pool that is popular with families that is open during the summer, washrooms, playgrounds on both ends and a small beach.
The food concession here has the most diverse menu from hot dogs and burgers to Japanese Ramen, fish and chips and now a Kombucha bar.
From here you can continue along the sea wall, venture in to the forest trails or head to lost lagoon.
