Built in the 1930s the Lions Gate Bridge is a rather interesting suspension bridge. The term "Lions Gate" refers to a pair of mountain peaks north of Vancouver, called Lions! We got a nice view of the bridge from across Stanley Park.

Quite majestic and with being on a cruise ship going under it leaving Vancouver and then returning to Vancouver it was fantastic.

We viewed the bridge and drove on Lion's Gate Bridge as part of a tour. To me, it's just another bridge and how much can you say and how excited can you get about a bridge?

Very cool bridge. We went to the lookout point--great vantage point for photos. We also got some great shots when our RCCL ship passed under it on our cruise. Traffic can be awful at times--though we tended to be going opposite when it was.

Two proud lions guard the entrance to the bridge, flanking its entrance in Stanley Park. They way about 10 tons each and are very impressive. Folklore says there are silver coins under each front foot and bronze under the tail. Worth a look close up to get an impression of the size

A beautiful bridge linking Stanley Park to the North Shore. We went over it when we visited Capilano and under it when we cruised to Alaska. Very photogenic.

Must see when in Vancouver.

An impressive structure opened in 1938, you get a great view of it from the water or sea plane. Lionsgate film company was named after the bridge

We travelled over this bridge when travelling to Grouse Mountain. It is of steel and has mountains as a backdrop.

We drove from Vancouver to North Van, then back. And, we accessed the bridge from Stanley Park (even though the signs entering Stanley Park say that this is not possible).
