If you like sea animals, you'll have a good day. Great for kids. Not a big place. The shows aren't that big of deal, especially if you have already been in those big parks dedicated to them.

We visited this place as part of a trek around Stanley park. It's well worth a visit. There are some wonderful exhibits to see although the dolphin and penguins are having a new home built so there's isn't up to much at the moment. It...More

Well kept facility with a lot of different aquatic marine life for all to see and explore. Take a break and have a bite at the snack counter. The poutine was really good! The otters provided a lot of comical fun to the experience...go check...More

I really respect the aquarium, they have saved/helped so many animals that wouldn't have made it in the wild.. nothing but great things to say about this place.. the jellyfish are so beautiful! Keep up the awesome work!

I've been to many aquariums, and this is one of the best I've seen. Large and multi-faceted. Good educational content too. Very sad that they lost their beluga whales.

Try and visit outside of the weekend and when it's not rainy (everyone decides to go when it's raining). There is lots to see and we could've easily spent almost 3 hours there (according to Google most people spend 1.5-2 hours). There's lots of information...More

The penguins and the sea otters made the visit well worth while. The aquarium was pretty fun! It is located in the middle of Stanley Park. We travelled there by public bus. It is a mid-sized aquarium in a fairly big city, so I would...More

Good to spend 2 hrs with your kids here. Quality exhibits. However, having seen many aquariums in Japan (eg Kyoto, Nagoya) with better layout and meticulousness, in my humble opinion, Vancouver Aquarium should learn from the Japanese colleagues to really stand out. I would love...More

Stanley Park
Stanley Park is Vancouver's premier spot to get up
close and personal with nature and animals. The grassy
expanse offers outdoor teahouses and stunning views,
beachfront hideaways and splash parks. It is a typical
getaway spot for friends and families, especially as
it is home to Vancouver's aquarium, and some of its
best equestrian outlets.

Not so much about the attraction, but the getting there. I will be travelling solo with a 2 yr old, stroller and his necessities. How easy is it to get from the Lonsdale Quay via sea bus and then city bus to the Aquarium? Would I be better off driving from N. Vancouver? Thank you for any advice.

Thanks for your replies. I think we'll drive to the Aquarium this time and save the sea bus/city bus adventure until he is older and I don't have so many things to carry.

Very small aquarium, and sadly the beluga whales which were the main attraction have passed away.

What is the best way to get to the Vancouver Aquarium from the cruise line docks? Are luggage lockers available at terminals? Also, is the BC ferry to Victoria in the same area as cruise ships?
