Stanley Park is Vancouver's premier spot to get up close and personal with nature and animals. The grassy expanse offers outdoor teahouses and stunning views, beachfront hideaways and splash parks. It is a typical getaway spot for friends and families, especially as it is home to Vancouver's aquarium, and some of its best equestrian outlets.

    Displays were gorgeous!
Their displays were dazzling!! Everything was neat and clean and all the staff was very pleasant! I thought it was one of the best aquariums I've ever seen. It didn't have a lot of huge displays. But it did have a large quantity of displays and they were gorgeous!

Excellent place to spend a few hours
The Vancouver Aquarium is a nice place to spend a few hours. Many of the animals on exhibit are native to British Columbia, but they also have species from around the world, including an extensive Amazon exhibit. Part of the aquarium is outdoors and you can watch the sea lions and seals being fed. These marine mammals have been rescued after they have been injured. Inside. I enjoyed the Nature's Ninjas exhibit about tricks animals use to avoid becoming someone's dinner. There was a live presentation in which an animal was brought out for visitors to touch. There was a huge exhibit on the Amazon, including a walk-though rain forest. It is quite easy to spend a few hours here.

Great place for the whole family
The place itself is nicely packed so the distance to travel from one place to another is fine even for small kids. The different sections are very interesting: the animals as well as the text. We loved the sea lions and it was nice to hear a bit about them. The short film was fun and educational! Thank you!

    Afternoon visit to Aquarium
Very enjoyable trip with a vast array of marine life and knowledgeable and helpful staff throughout. We managed to see everything and the shark 4D experience was great fun. The only reason I've marked one star less than full was because it was very very busy all over the aquarium and we had to jostle for position at a couple of things here and there. I would, however still recommend and would definitely return tho.

    Good aquarium, a bit overpriced.
Aquarium was overall good! A bit smaller for the price you pay but it was very crowded! It gave me that Disney feel. The feeling you are paying more than you should but it was so busy you can’t blame them for charging the money? In my opinion, some exhibits were too difficult to get through with all the people, especially kiddos! Loved the outdoor exhibits with all the seals and otters! You can do a timed entry online but it didn’t seem to matter despite what the website says. Good aquarium, my teens enjoyed it! Just a bit too much for what you get in my opinion. You can do this aquarium in less than 2 hours.

Lovely place to spend some time in Vancouver
Really enjoyed the Aquarium-it’s small but nicely laid out and good exhibits. Loved the seals and sea lions all of whom have been rescued - sadly shot and unable to fend for themselves in the wild. Good eating facilities - clean and tidy. A nice place to spend an few hours in Vancouver.

Vancouver Aquarium is good for families
Vancouver Aquarium is good for families. If you are going to go, go early it does get crowded. The number of visitors allowed inside the aquarium may be limited but it still fills up. The 4D Shark film was short and fun with vibration, shaking and rumbling in sync with the effects on screen. The jellyfish tanks were hypnotic. Mostly fish in tanks, no giant killer whales in tiny tanks to feel guilty about. After the Aquarium, go for a walk in Stanley Park!

With rich collection and well arranged displays
This is Canada's biggest aquarium and I simply couldn't miss it and I'm glad that I did visit it. It had a very rich collection of marine animals, some of which I had never seen before. I was mesmerized by the Japanese nettles, the sea pens and the axolotl, in particular. I also enjoyed their 4D documentary about sharks. The displays were well arranged and the place was not that crowded. Unfortunately, they no longer have orcas and any beluga. But the place is still worth visiting. Outside, in front of the main entrance, you'll find a famous work of Bill Reid depicting a killer whale.

    Great Experience, Especially for Kids
The aquarium has two main sections: tropical and B.C. Both sections are very well displayed. Lots of tanks. Lots of viewing space. Exhibits at heights easy for kids to enjoy. Beautiful and exotic creatures. Excellent explanations of the creatures you're seeing. If you are from the Pacific Northwest, the B.C. portion is more familiar (and, therefore, less interesting) than the other parts, but the explanations are still helpful. A couple of pointers: (1) go early because the place gets more and more crowded, (2) get tickets in advance so you don't have to stand in line to get tickets (visitors with advance tickets get their own line), and (3) realize that not all of the animals the aquarium used to have, like penguins, are still there.

Great Part of the Stanley Park Experience
We saw the Aquarium during our day at Stanley Park. The Aquarium is conveniently located within easy walking distance from the totem poles, dining, Seawall and carriage ride. We enjoyed the sea lion show as well as the many exhibits which are mostly indoors although some are outdoors. The movie was good and was part of the admission price.

The aquarium was really nice. It was clean and had a few cool little exhibits for kids.
It is a little cramped and could have used some more exhibits and a few places that had a little more development, but overall a really solid place to take the kids when visiting Vancouver.
Best part was a 10 minute touch tank presentation.

Beautiful exhibits with easy to read explanations. From the fountain at the entrance to the gift shop everything was clean and new. There was a 4-D movie, included in the price of admission, about the lifecycle of a sea turtle that included ocean mist, seat rattling surf, wind, and lightning flashing. Way fun. Lots of children with plenty of interactive experiences.

We visited on a rainy day. Most of it was indoors so thats good. Well laid out exhibitions with beautiful animal habitats. Great variety of fish and even saw anaconda, tortoise, cayman croc. Sea otters were absolutely adorable, nice listening to talk about them, but was busy and not enough room to see and stood in rain. Not good signs to show where talks happen though, we waited in wrong area for seal talk so missed start of it. Overall good rainy day activity. Tickets a little pricey (recommend pre purchasing to skip queue) and gift shop v pricey. Easy to get bus 19 to stanley park and walk 5 mins to aquarium.

We really enjoyed the visit to the Aquarium. It was easy to find, entry easy and an interesting visit.
Staff talks were interesting and informative. We particularly enjoyed the sea otters and jellyfish. Nice that the mammals were rescued injured creatures being looked after and trained in captivity.

This aquarium is lovely and well worth exploring if you are in Vancouver. You can catch a bus easily to here and is situated in Stanley Park. There was plenty to see and lovely fish, otters etc. You can hire a cycle from outside and ride around Stanley Park or you can walk around but will take you a few hours.

Lots of fun watching the sea lions and seals be fed! Great exhibits, narine life, and 4D movie...a fun way to spend several hours, even for adults. Love their non-profit mission too.

They snap group photo with zero notice we still bought it but no one was even looking at the camera. The jellyfish and seals were the coolest things. The cafe was okay too. The amount of French fries they put in an order is insane so you might end up with huge amounts of fries if portions don't change. My biggest complaint is lack of maps like we wanted to get to seal cove and no idea how to get there. Parking was distant too. Also interior very packed with people.

Small aquarium with a few animal exhibits and a some aquariums that represent regions around the world. Easy to see everything in 2 hours or so. I get some of the comments about the animal exhibit being hard to see because the viewing areas are very small. Very happy I made the visit, had a great display of tropical fish and sharks!
