Very small aquarium with no shows. Mostly a water rehabilitation center for injured aquatic animals. Nice for a half day adventure. Good for families with small children.

What a great Aquarium. With rescued sea animals that have no where else to go. It is a nice size aquarium, not huge. the viewing areas for all the different areas are vast and offer lots of room above and below the water. the smaller aquariums of fish are good size that kids in strollers can see into the tanks... It's a fantastic aquarium. The diverse marine life is out of this world. The mammalian species is amazing. The world of the various types of jellyfish is beyond mesmerizing: from the largest to the most tiny in size. I was awestruck at the minute size of one species that even lights up as it moves. It's a must visit.

My husband and I visited the aquarium on a rainy Vancouver day. Many of the displays are awe inspiring in particular the jelly fish exhibits. I was very keen to see the belugas having been to see whales in numerous places around the world but never having seen belugas. I was saddened by the size of the pool the whales... More

we were pleasantly surprised by the extent of the exhibits. Lots of information provided everywhere, and there was a lot of staff around to answer questions.

There is plenty to see inside the aquarium. There is a toddler area that has a touching tank , and learning stuff. There are lockers to hold your jackets or belongings if you need them, easy access for everyone. The shows are great and the areas are easy to find with maps on the walls...the only thing I have to... More

I expected it to be a much larger premise. However it really makes it up for quality as you can eventually stroll by otters, fake killer whales, snakes, frogs, and the most incredible "collection" of jelly fishes I have ever seen in my whole life. Definitely worth your while!

Staying in Stanley Park

Neighbourhood Profile
Stanley Park
Stanley Park is Vancouver's premier spot to get up close and personal with nature and animals. The grassy expanse offers outdoor teahouses and stunning views, beachfront hideaways and splash parks. It is a typical getaway spot for friends and families, especially as it is home to Vancouver's aquarium, and some of its best equestrian outlets.
