Do not rent from U-Save. I got scammed and I'm filing a complaint. I was always afraid of car rental companies ripping me off and it finally happened to me. When I reserved my vehicle on usave.com I was asked to pay for the vehicle up-front ( 217.62 USD ). Something came up and I had to cancel my trip and a car rental. I cancelled it more than four days before my reservation. I phoned the folks at both Pacific Car Rental and U-Save, they pass me back and forth for a refund and they finally send me the following email. This is seriously an unethical business practice.

We haven’t returned our car yet, but so far, our experience with Pacific Car Rental has been better than the U.S.-owned car rental companies. The prices were more competitive and the service was straightforward and great. We got picked up from the hotel, although later we learned it’s walking distance downtown. It’s close to the major hotels (Hilton, Hampton, Blu, Sandman, Georgia). Maybe not their Abbotsford location to YVR (only for WestJet/Swoop/Flair), but the Richards Street office also offers convenient airport car-drop service. It costs $100, although taxi fare is roughly a third of the price before tip. It’s worth considering if you have bulky gear like skis. The best thing is that Pacific is family owned with reliable service; the cars are well maintained and can be parked overnight for free inside their outdoor parkade. That’s $37 savings per night, compared to parking underneath your hotel. You can’t go wrong with value like that!

rented 4wd for ski trip. Staff are very casual and uninterested…didn’t explain rental contract or clearly discuss insurance and excess options….quite confusing. Simply sign here and go. Required to sign the car condition report before seeing the car which is a few floors down in the public car park. Received the car in terrible condition- hadn’t been cleaned, mud and a large chip to the dirty mud laden windshield. No other car available so cleaned what they could with paper towels . A week after returning we were charged for a new windshield as they claimed additional damage which we didn’t do. Just another way of making you claim insurance so they benefit or double dip from the last renter who originally chipped the window. What a load of rubbish and we’ve learned our lesson to avoid small car rental companies like this in future..will stick with Sixt.

I have rented from Pacific Car Rentals on three seperate occasions from Frebruary to April of 2021. Each time I have had a friendly and courteous desk person to deal with. Cars are excellent, I rented a corolla. Price for renting is the best I have been able to find, even better than the various on line discount websites. So, what is not to like! I am renting from Pacific again in late May and again in early July. No issues with rental or hidden charges. Great location. It is within a 5 minute walk from the Granville SkyTrain station. I took the sky train from their rental location to the airport and will take the sky train from the airport for my next car rental. I most definitely recommend Pacific Car Rental.

Excellent experience from the beginning to end. We got a 4 WD vehicle that was stated in the contract (not ‘or similar’ as with many other companies) with snow tires that we required for a ski holiday. Very good condition vehicle - no problems and a fair price. Highly recommended.

We rented a car for the day to head up to Whistler. The price was good, service was quick, and we had until 8am the next day to return the car and were only charged an extra $1.50. Got to Whistler and back in just under 300km, which was our limit before we had to pay per km, so it was a great deal.
