Myself and my partner visited this museum and we found it very interesting. You wouldn't spent much time here, maybe an hour or so as it is quite small. It's a self guided tour with very detailed exhibits. Possibly not somewhere you would bring your children as there are a few murder cases on walls but as a couple we... More

First off, I worked as a civilian for the Vancouver Police Department in the late '70's and can't believe it took me this long to go and see the museum! Spent a few nights in Vancouver so made a point of going to it which was right next door to where I used to work so kind of a trip... More

This is on the hop on hop off route and about $10 each for a senior. Near Chinatown ( be careful in the surrounding areas if going North East as it is an unsavoury are on foot)

Be sure to sign up in advance for the "Red Light Rendezvous" and/or "Vice, Dice & Opium Pipes". Incredibly well researched walking tours around the area led by knowledgeable and personable guides. Super interesting facts and stories about Vancouver's grittier side - both historical and current. And appreciated how the guides treat local residents of the DTES with respect and... More

We walked to the museum as part of our day in Vancouver. The museum is very informative and full of interesting artifacts and facts. The displays look a little dated but nonetheless the visit was very worthwhile.

It was perfect sunny day when we decided to walk from Robson street all the way to China town and we end up at this old but beautiful building where the Vancouver Police Museum is standing. It was busy and the line up was long. But since we don't have anything to do for the rest of the day, we... More

If you are down the Gastown, Chinatown ,area of Vancouver take some time out to visit the Police Museum. We walked there from Robson St which is a fair walk, initially we thought the Museum was closed but on further inspection &a good push of the door we found a couple of flights of stairs that led to the exhibits... There are limited under cover attractions (apart from shops) to visit in Vancouver when it's raining. The Vancouver Police Museum is one of those places you visit in a damp rainy day. The walk through Gas Street towards the venue starts off lovely with the ultra hipster streets of Gas Town, after which you hit North Chinatown and that's when... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
