Trained here, got the opportunity to teach here briefly... they are the best and diving in Vancouver is great. All the staff are awesome and experienced in so many aspects of diving. The shop is full of great equipment and people that know their stuff and sell what they believe in. If you're just starting or want really specific info,... More

The staff at the Diving Locker are all very approachable, knowledgeable and patient!!! I am a diving instructor's worse nightmare. Where my husband breezed through a 2 day course my high anxiety levels prevented me from overcoming some diving issues. The instructors worked with me specifically to master those issues. Although I probably won't be a free dive champion, I... More

Two of us worked our way through a classroom and pool class Tahvo was a patient and well spoken teacher. His clear and concise in instruction translated into two wonderful ocean dives. All the staff does a great job in encouraging new and old divers to continue to grow within PADI with their knowledge and enthusiasm. The store is well... More

For Christmas, I bought an 'Introductory to Scuba Diving' class for each of my daughters who range in age from 13 to 19. Being a diver myself, I wanted them to experience the sensation of breathing underwater. The classroom portion of the lesson was at the Diving Locker store, and lasted for about ninety minutes, covering everything necessary to scuba... More

We did our PADI open water certification here and were totally impressed. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. I was fairly nervous beforehand but our instructor, Drew, was fantastic. I was much more comfortable thanks to his easygoing but professional attitude. And it was cold but not as bad as I imagined - we did opt for dry suits.... More

I had no idea what to expect but the PADI certification process for Open Water Diver was a fun and very thorough process with the Diving Locker. A combined effort by staff, instructors, and students made the entire process an amazing time. I was able to finish PADI Level 1 Open Water in 2 weeks as advertised. You can also... More

the staff are friendly and helpful and they offer free transportation to Porteau Cove but it is a long day, equipment they offer is old and worn out but functional, just remember to know where you drop your equipment off on the ground if you are renting, if not someone will snag it and you are struck with theirs just... Staying in Kitsilano

Neighbourhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
