I highly recommend this tour!

Patrick exuded passion for First Nations history and local ecology on this fascinating and informative tour. We learned all about what Stanley Park was like when it was inhabited by Squamish peoples, not so long ago. He illuminated the manifold links between the land's ecosystems and its human caretakers. His care in answering all of our questions made it obvious that his knowledge and interest in the subject matter went far beyond a ninety-minute tour.

Our tour guide was very knowledgable and answered all of our questions. As an indigenous artist himself, he shared his insights into the history, culture and artwork of the Northwest Coast. I highly recommend taking a tour with Talasay Tours because an Indigenous guide presents a perspective that other guides cannot. It's really important to hear the voices of people that are from this region. We did the Talking Totems tour and we learned a lot about art, culture, and history of the land and its people. Our guide brought us tea to enjoy at the end which was really nice since it was a cold and rainy day.

I have arranged the Salmon Hatchery Tour with my post-secondary students in March 2023. As this was NOT my first encounter with Talasay Tours or Candace, I knew exactly what to expect. The bottom line is that the team behind Talasay is incredibly compassionate and knowledgeable. Touring with candace made us feel closer to our surroundings and more connected to the environment, respectful of heritage and aware of our place in the world. It is a very humbling experience all together. Definitely a tour for people from all walks of life and all ages. The tour quickly became a multi-sensory experience that was complimented by Candace's humor and love of life.

65 of our G6s joined for two Talaysay Tours (Spoken Treasures & Talking Trees) on March 29th, 2023. Candace and Jane were exceptional with communication and organization in booking the tours and putting together an itinerary for us. On the day of, Candace took the time to meet our group, welcome us and sang a song for the group. Sera, Shae, and Richard were our tour guides. They were engaging and shared a wealth of knowledge with our students. They did an excellent job and it was a great experience for the students - they learned a lot!

I would highly recommend Talaysay tours and we are looking forward to booking more tours for our students in the future.

Candace and her team led our elementary school class on a guided hike at the top of the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish. The students and their families really enjoyed the experience and felt they learned a lot. They especially enjoyed the stories that helped them connect more to the place we were in.

We took part in the Spoken Treasures hosted by our wonderful guide Patrick. There is so much that I need to learn about the Indigenous history in Canada. Thank you for providing this wonderful tour. I highly recommend this company. The tour itself started promptly and the guide was very attentive to ability levels and comfort. This tour was approximately 1.25 hrs in length and followed the park wall path from the information centre to the totem poles. It was mostly flat terrain and an easy walk. Recommended for kids only if they have a good attention span but not if they cannot hold attention for the entire time.

The Totem Pole tour in Stanley Park is a valuable gem in Vancouver. The guide, Patrick, is a truly beautiful young man, happy to chat to a group of older women with so much knowledge and humility.

The tour was fascinating- so many stories about the First Nations people who lives in the park.

A must see tour for any visitor to Vancouver.

Candace was a wonderful guide. Trained as an anthropologist and a kayaker with decades of experience, she had so much knowledge and many wonderful stories to share. She knew some great places to go and just quietly experience the marine beauty, like the crystal clear waters of some quiet little bays. Candace / Talaysay also very kindly accommodated some different diets among our group -- vegetarian, vegan, carnivore -- with appropriate fresh snacks (hummus, nice crackers, lots of fresh fruit, cheese, some sliced sausage, drinks). We only went for 3.5 hours, but it was a great taste of what ocean kayaking can be. The 3.5 hour time frame was a kid-friendly one (we were three adults, one young teen). The double kayaks we were in felt safe and stable for ocean-paddling novices like us.

A fantastic immersive indigenous experience! Our guide Seraphine was knowledgeable and friendly, I highly recommend the Stanley Park tour for anyone looking for an authentic indigenous experience here in Vancouver, BC. The tour starts right at the Stanley Park bus loop which makes finding the group incredibly easy, 10/10 will definitely do again!
