Perfect way to explore Granville Island Public Market!

My family and I visited Vancouver from the Bay Area, California as a fun birthday/anniversary trip. Most of us had never been to Vancouver before, and none of us had been to the market. This tour was the perfect way to get to try things that we most likely would not have tried ourselves, and was a great way to get to learn all about the different vendors, and the history of the market itself. Our guide Preeti was AMAZING! She was so knowledgeable about everything we were trying and she really made everyone on the tour feel included. We had a great group and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting!

We had a great time on the Foodie Tour with our knowledgeable guide, Angela. What stood out was how each element of the tour was carefully selected to give a diverse experience. The food items we sampled were of high quality, reflecting the rich culinary diversity of Richmond.
Angela's insights into the local food scene not only made the tour informative but also provided an opportunity to gain valuable insight into the vibrant community of Richmond. Plus, the friendly group of fellow food enthusiasts made the experience even more enjoyable.

Great variety of food!!

We were really happy with the amount and the types of food stops on the tour! It was a busy Saturday afternoon, but Michael was able to show us the vendor storefront and knew a quiet place to talk about the food. I really appreciated the history of the market and of each vendor. Additionally, we were late (warning: don't drive to Granville Island unless you get there an hour early to look for parking! We definitely underestimated the traffic and very, very limited parking spaces). Michelle was SO nice when I called to let her know we were late and she told me where the first few stops were and an approximate time they would be there. We missed the first two stops and caught up with the group on the third. Michael was incredibly kind and thoughtful to save our tastings from them! Excellent tour and fantastic customer service. Thank you!

Delicious food from start to finish. The tour guide was not only very knowledgeable but made the walk interesting and fun.

One of the Best Food Tours Ever!

This was a great 2 hour food tour! We had white tea lemonade, 2 types of artisanal sourdough bread, 4 kinds of cheese and a jam (yum), 7 samples of charcuterie (one was a spiritual experience), 2 different pickles, 2 different salmon samples (one melt in the mouth, one with inspired flavors), an outstanding Thai noodle dish, a macaron (delicious), a lemon square (divine), cold brew (I added half & half), and a perfect yeast doughnut. Excellent Experience

This food tour was amazing. We were a small party of 16. The market is very busy and somewhat overwhelming. Our tour guide, Mike, made the market a wonderful experience. Ten different stops and several different food tastings. Everything was delicious. Mike would get our goodies and bring them out to an area where he could tell us about each item. Then we stayed in the market area and enjoyed shopping. We highly recommend this food tour. Five stars *****

A group of 11 people soon started chatting and made for good company.
We ate at a lovely Ukrainian restaurant - which we would honestly not have considered if not on the tour. This was followed by Mexican , then Italian. All were located literally within one block so not much walking needed. Lovely chatty engaging informative and attentive guide Preedi ( sorry about spelling !🤣).

Where is the departure point for the Granville Island Market Tour? I’m staying downtown Vancouver.

Hello Blanca, The tour starts next to Edible Canada (1596 Johnston Street) by the bistro entrance. You'll see a little square with a bench, a tree, our red Foodie flag and one of our tour guides wearing a red Foodie jacket! From Downtown Vancouver, you can take a taxi (≅10 min) or take a bus (50, 4, 7, 44). If you walk, depending where you stay, it could take about 30 minutes to get to Granville Island. Or you can take the False Creek Ferry or the Aquabus.

Yes it was, smaller portions but you’ll be stuffed by the end of the tour! You can opt to upgrade so you get wine pairings as well when you book.

Trip advisor booking vs Website booking. The trip advisor cost is $15.00 less per person than the website cost. However it's not clear if the Trip advisor cost includes alcohol pairings. Anyone?

For the Granville Island Market Tour, the only seated tasting is at the first stop, with the rest of them taking place throughout the busy marketplace. If you are interested in seated tastings, our Gastronomic Gastown Tour and Best of Downtown Tour both visit restaurants for a more traditional sit-down tasting.

Cant decide between Gourmet tour and Gastown tour - my husband is Pescatarian - is either of these two meat heavy? Also not sure if to book Saturday 13th or Sunday 14th August - we are only in Vancouver for 5 days including the weekend, and we arrive on the Friday afternoon and leave Wednesday. Not sure if we should go Sunday and book to go out Saturday night instead? any thoughts please? thanks Jo & Dave

We loved the Gourmet tour, would recommend. They cater for your needs as one of our friends doesn't eat fish and they arranged other food. Just let them know when you book. We did Saturday afternoon, but we have been to Vancouver before. When you go would depend on how much you've already seen.
