We chose the Granville Island food market tour, which was almost 100% indoors, very little walking between stops, and was a great microcosm of the Vancouver food scene. The selections were well-curated and our guide Lisa was energetic, interesting, and clearly passionate about food, Vancouver and the local history. She took interest in her guests and kept the tour moving... More

A little history, a lot of local food info and restaurant tips, and a fantastic sampling of tasty bites. Salami with truffles, masala chai, breads and cheese, coffee and maple syrup and doughnuts like warm fluffy pillows. Tour guide and chef Nadia left us knowing a lot more about the market and the Vancouver food scene. Put Granville Island on... More

Had a girls weekend in Vancouver. Scheduled a food tour through Gastown. Our guide, Tracy was amazing. She took us to some of the best restaurants. The portions were perfect. During our walk, she gave us fun facts about the neighborhood making the entire experience very enjoyable and engaging.

We did both the Guilty Pleasures and Gastronomic Gas Town Tours! Great food, Nadia and Lisa was both awesome and the group dynamics good. We had a memorable and fun experience in spite of the steady down pour on second tour, it is a "must do" when in Vancouver!

We had Lisa as a tour guide and she gave a great background about the places we went as well as the preparation for what we were eating. Most of the food was yummy but we were a bit disappointed that some of the tastings were just tea, coffee, and an apple. We were expecting a bit more food than... More

We had Nadia lead us around Granville Island Market and had a wonderful time! She did a good job explaining different aspects of the market and what you were sampling, and making sure the group stayed together. My husband and I enjoyed all of the samples and it is definitely worth the $50 or so that it costs - nothing... More

We did the Guilty Pleasures and Granville Island tour. Both guides were amazing. They were extremely knowledgeable about food and excited to share their passion! Great stops, not too touristy! And also had great suggestions for other places to try in Vancouver during our visit!

We took the 2 hour morning tour on Granville island in August.. It was lots of fun and our very pleasant and informative guide introduced us to a number of delicious foods such as artisan breads, cheeses, meats, fruits, coffees and honey glazed donuts. All in all a great experience. Highly recommended.

We took the Granville Island Tour. June, our tour guide, was friendly and passionate about the food experience. The food was amazing. It's hard to pick out a favourite among our eight stops. We're so glad we took this tour. Highly recommended!

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
