This was our first trip to Granville Island, Dina was a wonderful host, explaining the history and local culture of the markets. She was incredibly informative and helpful, showing us the best of what they have to offer there. I highly recommend to anyone travelling here for the first time and wanting to get their footing in a new area.

The whole experience was great, enjoying good food from various artisans within a really good ambiance in the Granville island market. Anjela was an entertaining, knowledgable and passionate guide and did a great job in taking us around the various stalls to sample the excellent food on offer. A great way to spend a wet Sunday. Highly recommended.

Preeti (I hope I got that right) was a good tour guide. She set expectations at the start which I appreciated because the market was crowded Sunday morning. We had more than enough food. We started with a refreshing drink and a bit of a charcuterie board then transitioned to coffee and dessert. I liked the lemon square so much I bought some to take home. And I certainly see why Lee's Donuts had a line. I would do this tour again but during the week. The crowd was overwhelming and several people attempted to join our group as Preeti provided the samples.

The Gastown food tour was exceptional! Each stop had something special; the stuffed cabbage at Kozak Ukrainian restaurant, the Monarca margarita at Monarca, and the pavlova at Gastronomy Gastown. Really unique. Our tour guide, Bronson, was so knowledgeable and just a delight. HIGHLY recommend. We did the tour with alcohol included.

Such a great food tour. Manuela was exceptional as a guide and made the experience so positive. We appreciated how in depth she went about some of the shops/owners histories and how helpful she was when we had any questions.
The food was delicious and we were so full at the end! Some favorites were the chai latte, macarons, and the pad see ew. Would love to come back and try the other tours as well!

We had the great privilege of doing a private tour of Granville Island facilitated by exceptional host Lydia. She was well versed in the history of the island and shops, extremely personable, and an absolute pleasure to spend the afternoon with. We enjoyed a sampling from some of the most iconic vendors as well as some smaller stalls, each accompanied by a wonderful little anecdote about their journey to the marketplace and the backstory of the owners. We enjoyed ourselves so much that the time flew by. Would definitely recommend to locals and tourists alike, and be sure to ask for Lydia!

We had a wonderful two hour tour of Granville Island with the very knowledgeable Michael. There was certainly enough food to satisfy our group - small sample sizes but so many of them that I took the donut home to eat later. We all had favourites and many of us enjoyed everything. Thanks to Michael - and the various vendors - for a great morning.

Myself and my family had a great time on our tour today! Daray was super friendly and knowledgeable and even as locals we learnt lots of new things about the area. The food was all amazing and everyone in the group was very full by the end. Would definitely recommend to visitors and locals alike.

Our Morning Food tour of Granville Island was led by Tracy Volb - a Foodie Ambassador par excellence,
We had the opportunity to visit about 6 different vendors and sample their fare.All of them were excellent.Artisan breads, local cheeses, unique teas, flavorful & different nuts, delicious bagels & lox. The final stop was a doughnut vendor who prepared for us freshly made hot out of the fryer and glazed on the spot.
It was a fun morning, and one of the highlights of our stay in Vancouver.

We had Tracy for our Foodie Tour around Granville Island. She was fantastic, very upbeat and extremely knowledgeable about the market, all the vendors and their business concepts and the products produced.
Tracy showed us around the market and explained many interesting facts. We stopped for samples at some of the most popular stalls (the vendors had especially prepared for the Foodie Tour). I have to say I was very impressed with the choices of food tasting Tracy picked out for us, a wide variety of foods, (Eg, cheese, meats, bread, snacks, drinks, desserts) we were treated like VIP and got the best experience, much better than walking through on your own trying to figure out where/what was good to eat and see.
My favourite part was when Tracy brought us to a donut shop and because of their connection, the baker made us fresh donuts there and then, never tasted a donut so good! Tracy also gave some great recommendations for various restaurants around the city.

The tour starts next to Edible Canada (1596 Johnston Street) by the bistro entrance. You'll see a little square with a bench, a tree, our red Foodie flag and one of our tour guides wearing a red Foodie jacket!
From Downtown Vancouver, you can take a taxi (≅10 min) or take a bus (50, 4, 7, 44). If you walk, depending where you stay, it could take about 30 minutes to get to Granville Island. Or you can take the False Creek Ferry or the Aquabus.

Trip advisor booking vs Website booking. The trip advisor cost is $15.00 less per person than the website cost. However it's not clear if the Trip advisor cost includes alcohol pairings. Anyone?

For the Granville Island Market Tour, the only seated tasting is at the first stop, with the rest of them taking place throughout the busy marketplace. If you are interested in seated tastings, our Gastronomic Gastown Tour and Best of Downtown Tour both visit restaurants for a more traditional sit-down tasting.

Cant decide between Gourmet tour and Gastown tour - my husband is Pescatarian - is either of these two meat heavy?
Also not sure if to book Saturday 13th or Sunday 14th August - we are only in Vancouver for 5 days including the weekend, and we arrive on the Friday afternoon and leave Wednesday. Not sure if we should go Sunday and book to go out Saturday night instead? any thoughts please?

We loved the Gourmet tour, would recommend. They cater for your needs as one of our friends doesn't eat fish and they arranged other food. Just let them know when you book. We did Saturday afternoon, but we have been to Vancouver before. When you go would depend on how much you've already seen.
