We bought the senior day pass for $14 pp CAD and used it to visit Kitsilano Point, Granville Island, Yaletown, and some other stops along the way. For tourists, it is the easiest way to spend some time on the water, taking in the sights from a slightly different perspective.

Two companies provide ferry service on False Creek (Aquabus is the other) but their routes and pricing do vary. False Creek Ferry is the only line that goes to Kitsilano Point where we especially enjoyed walking around and seeing Stanley Park where it abuts the Burrard Inlet (into the ocean).

Along the way, so many people were out on paddleboards, bicycle pontoon floats, and boating on a variety of conveyances.

There are 3 routes and 9 stops. Transfer points between routes are easy to locate. Everything is marked so well and the waits for connecting ferries is very short (15 minutes at the most).

The Kitsilano Point (Beach) was a perfect place to walk around and look out into the open sea. The water became much choppier as the peaceful tranquility of False Creek gave way to the great beyond.

As of August 25th, masks will be required for passengers. Covid apparently isn't done with us yet.

Once a year we buy a day pass and go to each stop around False Creek and go for a walk. Sometimes for a coffee, next stop is ice cream, the a walk around Science World, then to Yaletown for a meal at Robba DA Matti. For about the cost of a movie, you get to travel all day and then take the western most route for the sunsets. Great day to meet people too!

The wee False Creek Ferries were very reliable and a fast service for the generally very short rides, and we loved them as much as the similar ones at Victoria on Vancouver Island. They provided a great platform on the water for many photos of the surrounding areas. You have to have at least one trip on them.

We took the ferry Friday late afternoon. The guy overcharged us $60.50 for 5 adults and a senior. I asked the lady at the booth if she can do anything. She gave me the number to call, left a message didn’t receive a callback. Sent an email but never recieved any reply.

My husband and I wandered down to the waterfront and planned on taking a water taxi over to Grandville Island. We decided to get a day pass and cruise around. We went to all the stops and got off and toured around all day. We even went back to our hotel room for a bit then went down to tour the bay that evening in the dark. Our captains were all very friendly and helpful and didn't seem to mind our endless journeys. We had a great day and got to see so much more of the city this way without the hassle of driving and parking. It helped that the weather was unseasonably warm and the waters were very calm. Recommend getting your tickets early and using them until the end of day.

Every time we travel to this part of Vancouver, I am thinking of not using these little ferries, because I find them a tad expensive, but every time we end using them, because it is a nice trip and it is very convenient to travel between Granville Island and Yaletown. Also a good opportunity to learn about the area around False Creek without having to do all the walking. I guess that sums it up;-)

With my wife loving boat rides, and the two of us on a tourist trip to Vancouver, we each decided to buy a day pass pass that allowed us unlimited access to all nine ferry stops. It was definitely money well spent.

Thanks to our hop-on, hop-off pass, we visited Kitsilano Beach, Granville Island, Sunset Beach, the location of the 2010 Olympics athletes vilage (now a residential area), and David Lam Park.

The water taxis were frequent, the drivers knowledgeable, and the overall experience great. Highly recommended.

Visiting Granville Public Market via ferry was high on our agenda on this long holiday weekend. Expecting big crowds and difficulty finding parking spot for our rental car, we decided to walk from our hotel to the Aquatic Museum stop (1 1/2 miles). Ticket purchase was easy on the spot. The ferry service was very efficient. Watching the captain dexterously doing his one-person routine of helping passengers embark/disembark from the little boat and driving the ferry was devastating . The short ferry ride, with the city skyline as backdrop, was perfect, and the highlight of our visit to the Granville Island.

The lineup for the free boat show ferry shuttle between Granville Island and BC Place was very long. A very friendly False Creek ferry skipper told us that he would take us along on his boat if we paid the fare, so off we went. He did some tour guide pointouts along the way which made our trip very enjoyable.

False Creek Ferries, which connects west end neighborhoods ,with the west side neighborhoods, are wonderful to take, both for fun & convenience.
It is also the perfect connector to Granville Island, for festive shopping or restaurant going.
They cut out the hassle of road traffic, & are very inexpensive.
And from December 15 to January 15 tickets are on sale!
A batch of 30x1 Zone tickets now cost 60$, down from the usual 75$.
Perfect for festive rides to see the lights start twinkling, or to avoid those Xmas shoppers on the road.
