I was lucky enough to get a charter with Silversides Fishing Adventures. My guide for the day was Aaron and he was right on time and had everything ready to go. We had a wonderful day on the Fraser river catching lots of sturgeon ranging in size from 2 ft. to 71/2 ft. Aaron's boat, fishing equipment and bait were all first class as was Aaron, I couldn't have hoped for a better day fishing big Fraser River White Sturgeon. Thanks so much for such a great and memorable fishing experience.

I was attending a conference in Vancouver and a buddy talked me into going on an impromptu fishing trip with Brian our guide from Silversides Fishing. I was completely unprepared to go fishing, but Brian said no worries, that he could outfit me - and he did. Unbelievable "catching" day, with multiple Chum hookups for both Zack and myself, with a number at 20 lbs, so needless to say, quite the experience.

Yesterday we spent the day on the Fraser river at Mission fishing for sturgeon. Our guide was Mike. Thanks to him, we had a totally awesome day. Mike was thoroughly professional, setting the rods, having the right bait, knowing the river like the back of his hand, and ensuring that we had plenty of pictures of the fish we caught to take home with us. We caught and released fish up to 270lb, 90" in length. Thanks to Louise for organising everything for us from the beginning. She ensured that everything ran smoothly. I highly recommend Silverside Fishing Adventures. They are a truly professional outfit and deliver everything they promise to. When you book, ask for Mike, he's the best. Totally different fishing to that we are used to doing here in Oz.

I had booked a Sturgeon Fishing trip for my husband and his friend flying in from Alberta. It had always been on their bucket list.
I booked the trip on the Silversides website and received confirmation of the date, time, and location of where to meet your guide via fareharbour.com

This was booked August 26th, with the fishing trip for September 19th.

The boys arrived at the meeting site, watched other groups get on different charter boats with their guides, and after an hour called Silversides Charter.

He stated that a different date was scheduled, and they were a day early for the trip.
He stated that he moved the date, and sent emails.
The email shows a conversation with Silversides wanting to move the date to a different one.
A response was not sent back because the email addressed was incorrect. This was then taken as an appropriate response/confirmation/agreement to the date change.

When booking the trip, a preference of wanting to receive phone calls instead of email were stated.

The response from Silversides about this whole mix up was “I guess it was poor communication on both our ends.”
Which is extremely frustrating since we were unaware that there was an issue.

It took over a month to receive a refund, and this was after emails had to be sent to remind them.

This is not to say that the Sturgeon Fishing itself wouldn’t have been incredible, or that the guide wouldn’t have been great.
It was the lack of proper communication and professionalism they have to offer, which is why we are giving this a poor review.

Absolutely shocked by how this business handles its customers. My cousin traveled all the way from Japan for a fishing tour, only to be cheated out of $900. The tour was canceled due to weather, and while that’s understandable, the promised refund has yet to be seen—even after a month of waiting. Despite numerous calls and assurances from Brian, the refund has not been processed.

This kind of treatment is beyond disappointing. I cannot recommend this business, and we are still waiting for what was promised. I will update this review if anything changes.

I was set to go fishing with my dad and son with Brian. He called a week prior to confirm everything was good and I advised it was. We arrived at the dock 15 min early and Brian was not there. Sent multiple texts and left voice mails that were not returned. We asked other guides at the dock if they knew Brian from Silversides. We heard a couple of them mention "yah, good luck with that", which did not give me any confidence. After standing in the rain for an hour a boat came to the dock after being docked a little ways away and it was Brian. He advised his boat was not working properly and could not take us out. It seemed like he was waiting for us to leave before bringing the boat to the dock to discuss with us. Was he trying to avoid paying back the deposit? In any event I did get back the deposit but ended up NOT fishing for my son's 16th birthday. We took a day off work and paid for 2 nights in a hotel plus meals and travel and got nothing. Easily $1,000 out of pocket for this and no communication from Brian, which was brutal. At least tell us prior to leaving so we could cancel everything. Being an hour late and then cancelling the trip was very unprofessional. As a boat owner the captain should know the condition of their boat so I think this situation could have been avoided. Utterly disappointed and would NOT recommend booking with these guys.

Great day was had fishing for Pinks on the Squamish river in BC. Brian picked up from downtown Vancouver, provided lunch, all the gear along with photography through out the day of me casting and catching, with the all important trophy shot of my biggest fish. At the end of the day Brian drove back along the scenic route 99 and got me safely back to Vancouver. Great scenery, awesome fishing, those Pinks pull your arm off! 10/10 so good I've rebooked a return trip.

Myself and 3 friends went out with Brian our guide in early August 2014.
Two of us are experienced fishermen and the others are rookies who have never caught a Sturgeon. One of my friends flew down from Prince George to have a chance to catch a dino.
Sturgeon fishing had been slow for 2 weeks prior to our trip. I knew the fishing wouldn't be hot but I also knew we would get fish. Brian met us at the Mission boat launch and we went downriver from there.
The first 11/2 hours was slow but Brian was working the rods with different baits and shortly afterwards we were into our first sturgeon. I was next to the rod when the fish started to bite so I hooked the fish and immediately passed the rod to my buddy from PG. I knew this was a decent fish.
Our guide coached my friend during the fight and 20 minutes later my bud landed his first ever sturgeon that was approx 6 ft. He could not believe the power these fish have and was already feeling the effects of fighting it on his body. We fished for a little while longer at that spot but nothing was happening so Brian moved to another spot. He put on fresh bait and with in 1/2 an hour we were into our second fish. The other rookie was up next and had a good fight with a Fraser River sturgeon. His fish was approx 6.5 feet long. Two nice fish for the sturgeon virgins.

The next fish came an hour later and was a very fat 7 footer that put on a fantastice fight before breaking the hook. We caught a few more fish at various spots before heading back to the launch.
Brian did a great job of trying to locate fish for us when we all knew that fishing was on the slow side. We out fished all the other boats around us. He changed spots and baits to ensure all the bases were covered.
If you want to have an experience of a lifetime get Brian to take you out sturgeon fishing.
He's a good guy. I would like him more if he would of told me the size and color of his favorite chironomid for his favorite lake. Good time.

Decided line up a solo fishing trip for a day while my wife was at a conference in Vancouver in early November. Found Silversides through the internet and based on his good reviews I figured Brian could deliver some quality fishing……AND HE DID. First let me say Brian was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and quick to move or try different tactics if things got slow, which made the 8 hour trip move along nicely. My fish goal (wish) for the day, as I told Brian, was to catch a few Salmon, but what I really wanted was a big Sturgeon. He hooked me into a few nice Chum in the morning, then we moved on to Sturgeon in the afternoon. The Sturgeon fishing was amazing, what a fight, Brian hooked me into a 5 footer that took flight twice. Then, if that wasn’t enough, a monster 7 footer that really made my day(maybe even year) for sure. Overall a great experience that I would highly recommend.

Had a wonderful fishing day with Silverside Fishing Adventures. They provided transportation from Vancouver which was very convenient. The guide was very experienced and found the fish. I caught 2 Sturgeon in the 7’ range and it took about 20 minutes to land.
