I cannot understand why anyone would want to practise in crowded studios to the point of danger. For example mats right up against exit doors. Mats with no space between them. You will never get individual attention. It is impossible with that amount of people. It seems many good teachers are leaving to teach at the many small studios that... More

There are teachers whom I love at Semperviva (however, they are becoming fewer as more inexperienced teachers are hired from the Semperviva teacher training school), but I find that the studios - particularly Granville Island studio (mouse droppings on carpet and poison bait in the studio, carpet rucked up in places and fraying) and the Sun studio on Broadway. I... More

I have been attending Semperviva for some years now and have decided to end my membership with them. Over the past two years or so, experienced teachers have left Semperviva to be replaced by very young and newly trained yoga instructors. While, of course, I believe that everyone has to start somewhere, and of course will need experience - it... More

I've done yoga for years across Canada and this studio is the best. The teachers are accepting, present and seem to practice what they preach! Very good yoga studio with integrity.

I bought a promo $30 for 30 days of unlimited practice. I did two classes today and they were great. Im only here for a week but that deal is so awesome still. The classes were Cameron's Hatha and Aili's power vinyasa. Wow just incredible vibes and knowledgeable inspiring yogis. Highly recommended.

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighbourhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
