Great place to eat

Overlooking the waterfront itself. Right down in Gastown and very near the Gastown clock. Good variety of food and excellent beers.

Stopped in here a couple times during my Vancouver trip. Nice selection of beers. Enjoyed a salad and a burger. Both very good. Loved the history of the place and of the gas town area. Interesting to learn how they are the only brewery using steam power.

This restaurant is great for hearty food and drinks. The staff was memorable in their understanding of the food, in terms of recommendations and the beers, in terms of strength and taste. The location is right next to the water and would be great for tourists and locals alike.

went there for the first time on Dec 23rd for beer and appetizers. Our server was fantastic explained all the different beers and each beer's IBU's. we ordered a couple flights of beer and our server took the time to explain each beer. I ordered pizza and my friend ordered the calamari..both were delicious and reasonably priced. I will definitely... More

This place has great vibes and great local brew beers! The bar staff were very friendly and helpful to a newcomer in town. Didn't eat here but will definitely be back!

Place was packed on Saturday night, but we were seated quickly. We had two burgers and beer, the best is definitely the steamworks burger! Had the yam and the regular fries, both equally delicious! Remember the fact that the pace was packed? That did not hold up our food, the burgers were made quickly

I just flew into Vancouver to meet my long lost best friend. We had been internet friends for year but never met in person until recently. We ate here for lunch and it was semi busy for a Friday afternoon. I ordered a pumpkin ale and a lamb burger. It contained Indian spice, raita, mayo, tomato, shredded cabbage, sesame brioche bun,... Our first night in Vancouver and I'd wanted to go to Steamworks after doing some research back in the UK. It was very busy but got a table for four quickly. Good range of beer not surprisingly, food was pretty good to. We went through two Pitchers of beer so it can't have been bad. We tried to get in... More

We dropped in for a beer and ended up staying quite awhile. It's a very cool establishment. Although we didn't eat, the food looked good. I really wished they had their fresh hop on tap.

Thank Rick j

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
