My cousin and I visited this park to kill time while waiting for a call to head home for dinner. You can catch a glimpse of the mountains that surround Vancouver from many parts of the city, and the views from this park are no exception. Directly opposite is North Vancouver where the elevation starts to climb, and east of the park is the Iron Workers Memorial bridge which is part of the Trans-Canada Highway. But otherwise, this was an average park which are probably more pleasant when the weather is good rather than in the winter when we were there.

Went for a Sunday walk in the park and noticed the new salt water project beside the vintage pool . It is one of my favourite spots in vancouver .

This park, next to the Burrard Inlet has it all: watery scenery, grassy rolling spaces, picnic tables, a large outdoor pool, a tennis court, a concession stand for yummy food. This is a fab place for family and group picnics.

Try the English style fish & chips at the concession stand. Two big pieces of cod and awesome chips are irresistible. This is a family business that has continued here for 46 years.

Adults & children cool off in the pool summers.

We really wanted to visit the pool and park and tried twice, both times finding no available parking and people's cars being towed away who had parked along a grassy area. When you phone the pool, you never have an opportunity to speak to an actual human being and their recorded message tells you absolutely nothing. It's so frustrating to drive all the way there only to find there's not a single parking spot available. There are so few parking spaces they must fill up literally within the first half hour of the pool being open. Very disappointing and a call to action for the city as far as this Toronto-area visitor is concerned.

This inner harbour Vancouver park is a very special ficture. With the mountain backdrop, waterfront walkways, beach area, and areas for families to picnic-play this is a very popular park. There is an off leash area for your pets; dog bags are not provided. As well, there is a wonderful outdoor life guarded pool. The play ground is located centrally and there is a lot of grass fields to play sports, fly kites, or just enjoy. This is an inner harbour beach area so it probably is not a swimming beach, however, there is a sand area for kids to enjoy. Enjoying the views or sun tanning is also popular; there were people fishing off the viewing dock and from the beach. Access is going to be a challenge. There is parking along New Brighton Road, these spots are not time limited and they go fast. Near the tennis courts/pool (at the end of the road) there are a few handicapped parking spots. Your next option is the free parking lot as you turn onto New Brighton Road; room for around 60 cars. No luck? You are parking outside the park and will have to walk in, fortunately, there is a staircase to shorten the walk.
