I fished a wet and grey day with Pat on the Squamish. His knowledge of all things river and fly fishing considerably brightened the day. I had never used a two-handed spey rod before and Pat's whole approach to teaching me (and ignoring the flubs and piled lines) was first class. At the end of the day I felt that I had gained some new casting skills and learned as much on the water as I ever have in a day of fishing. Pat was great company, a savvy fly fisherman and boatman, amusing story teller, and infinitely patient with a beginning caster. I would recommend Pat and his partners any time.

The boys at Chromer are the best in the business. I have been booking trips with them for the past 7 or 8 years, every guide is top notch. They always take good care of me and my clients and put us in front of the fish. I've seen lots of first time fly fishers catch a fish on day one with Chromer, and they're addicted. Highly recommend booking your next trip through Yos and the boys at chromer.

it was my first trip to the upper Squamish. It's a beautiful section of the river. Tom and Pat were patient, first class guides. They know the river well and are expert fly fisherman. Safety is of utmost importance when floating the river and their attention to safety was impressive and much appreciated. Although I did not hook a steelhead I managed to land a couple of trout!

BC is one of the top destinations for Steelhead fishing in the world, and Chromer Sport Fishing and its guides have the experience to make your trip worthwhile. In April 2023, three of us went after Steelhead on the Squamish River northwest of Squamish (an hour north of Vancouver). We floated from spot to spot and then fished while wading under the watchful guidance of Pat and Tom. Chromer and its guides are the real deal for serious fishers. They also guide in other premier sport fishing areas of BC (if you after a once-in-a-lifetime experience). They go after more than Steelhead, and I am also thinking of a trip to Squamish after Pink Salmon later in the summer (it's a "Pink" year in BC). Check out Chromer's website for dates of the runs and details about other trips that they schedule. If you are reading this but feeling that you are not hardcore enough for this kind of experience, I encourage you to do it anyway. The guides are friendly and patient, and will make sure that you have a good time even if you've never fly fished. And did I mention that the scenery is spectacular? Check out the pictures. Hooking a fish is a bonus. :)

Had an awesome float trip down the Squamish river. Tom was an excellent guide and coach. Water was low, fishing was a bit slow but I still had a few chances and did manage to land a nice bull trout. The river valley is a bit of paradise that few get to experience by raft.

Spent the day fishing with Chromer. First time fly fishing. From start to finish everything was top-notch. The Squamish river was stunning and the mountain backdrop incredible. Our guide Paul was experienced, super friendly and very patient in teaching us casting. Although we didn't catch anything that day, Paul did his best to find the best spots to cast and it was a very enjoyable day nonetheless.
Overall, I can't recommend Chromer 's for fly fishing highly enough. Will definitely be back again.

Had the absolute BEST time with Chromers crew! First time ever fly fishing; the Squamish river backdrop was mesmerizing. Our guides Yos, Paulie + Brass were so patient showing us casting to catching 🎣. Chromers crew took pride in making us feel incredibly safe on the river, greatly appreciated it being my first time!! The experience was an adventure from start to end. Highly recommend them for fly fishing, we will be back again soon. We also grabbed our lunch sandwiches to go from the most delish café in town, before we left called - Bean Around The World 👌🏽!

Went to BC for a girls trip in October 2022. We were looking for a unique experience and decided to give fly fishing a try. None of us had any experience at all, but figured it would be fun. We knew we’d enjoy it ( hard to have a bad time in that setting) but didn’t anticipate loving it as much as we did. Yos and his team were amazing! They were patient with us, so fun and made the experience all about our enjoyment. I’ve told everyone I know to not miss this experience if they find themselves Vancouver way. We’re already planning the next trip!
To anyone that hasn’t been or is nervous about trying- don’t be. You will absolutely appreciate every part of this adventure!

Hi,
They'll do a one-to-one without any problem I believe. Suggest you get in touch with Yos and explain your requirements. He was very helpful.
Cheers

Morning Gavin, thanks for having a look at our Trip Advisor. I just sent you an email with the best Vancouver fishing option for this Wednesday, you should have it in your inbox now, thanks!
Is there halibut fishing
Yos
North Vancouver, Canada82 contributions
Hi Caroline. We offer a variety of trips including fly fishing, sturgeon fishing and salmon fishing. Often people ask if we catch halibut near Vancouver on our saltwater charters and the answer is no we don’t. There really isn’t anywhere to target halibut close to Vancouver, just some honest advice! If you’d like a Vancouver salmon fishing charter please let us know and we can happily get you set up with the best guides in town!

Absolutely. Our Guide encouraged us to bring along a hip flask. Just enjoy responsibly!
what species of fish do you go for in middle June? thanks
Yos
North Vancouver, Canada82 contributions
Hi Curt. Sorry for the very late reply on this, didn't see it. In June we don't have much for river fishing, we focus on saltwater salmon fishing for Chinook (king) salmon and then we also do quite a bit of lake fishing in Whistler for rainbow and cutthroat trout if you're looking to fly fish. Hope this helps, let's us know if you have any other questions.
