We had the chance to visit the Karen Cooper Gallery while in Vancouver.
What a great JOY it was! We were fortunate to meet Karen and talk with her. The many gallery images were every bit as brilliant as the reputation we’d heard of Karen’s creative photo art expertise.
For six years, we’d been searching for a piece of art to adorn a space in our waterfront condo in downtown San Diego. And, there it was! Dream Keeper!
This awesome 80 X 35 image now graces our primary bedroom and can been seen down a long hallway the minute one enters our home. It reminds us of the rainforest trails around our home on Harstine Island in Puget Sound. We are thrilled with it and grateful to Karen for creating this cherished image.
Hearing the story from Karen of the quest to capture the image of Dream Keeper added to our delight. Plus, Karen and the gallery staff made the process of safely shipping this large piece of art to our California home very simple. We look forward to visiting the Karen Cooper Gallery every time we are in Vancouver and have been encouraging others to do likewise.

This gallery was the best thing I visited on Granville Island. Her photography is excellent and showcases the natural beauty of British Columbia. On a rainy day I didn't risk buying a print but will order one in the future.

As a photographer, I love viewing the work of other photographers because I know how hard it is to create a truly spectacular image. The gallery is filled with Karen's work, many of them printed on metal, which is an unforgiving surface. Most of the work is of places in British Columbia and Canadian National Parks. I just hope I can capture some similar images on this trip.
We purchased a piece and the woman working in the gallery was wonderful.

Thank you so much for your fabulous comments, we appreciate it.
We take pride in showing our visitors the fabulous scenery that British Columbia has to offer, so glad you enjoyed it all.
Here's hoping you captured some amazing photos on your trip.

There are a number of art galleries in this area, and all different. If I had to pick one to visit, this would be it. Perhaps not as specialized (nor as expensive) as the indigenous art or the African art close by, these works speak to the province of BC, and would be appropriate as a tourist memento. Mainly photographic works, but capturing a feeling usually only found in oils, these works should definitely be looked at by tourists from out-of-province.

I dropped in when I was strolling around Granville Island. The gallery has a perfect location, just at the entrance of the island. They have a fantastic selection of photographs printed on aluminum, canvas, paper and even glass! Very reasonable prices, especially if you want to buy larger pieces for the interior decor. Definitely worth visiting!
