Stanley Park is Vancouver's premier spot to get up close and personal with nature and animals. The grassy expanse offers outdoor teahouses and stunning views, beachfront hideaways and splash parks. It is a typical getaway spot for friends and families, especially as it is home to Vancouver's aquarium, and some of its best equestrian outlets.

This is a weathered, bronze, life size sculpture to look out for on a walk or cycle along the Stanley Park Seawall. She's sitting on a rock offshore. Not particularly spectacular, but worth a quick stop as you walk or cycle by. Reminiscent of the Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Girl In A Wetsuit is a lovely bronze sculpture of a girl in a wetsuit, sitting on a rock. It is situated on the north side of Stanley Park, by the seawall. It is not hard to see but it is a fair distance from the walkway making it a little difficult to get a clear view. It is reminiscent of Copenhagen's The Little Mermaid, but it is not a replica. Worth stopping by for a look.

We spent a good part of 2 days exploring Stanley Park. Just after we found it, a seagull landed on top of it.

Statue very much like the one in Copenhagen. All the time we spent here a seagull perched on the head of the girl. Saw it when cycling the seawall.

We spent the day in the Stanley Park. We were walking by the sea and found the sculpture. It's a beautiful bronze sculpture of a girl in wetsuit located in a rock. The views are amazing and we enjoy learning about the sculpture. A modernized version of Copenhagen's Little Mermaid statue.

This life size bronze statue of a woman in a wetsuit, with flippers on her feet and her mask pushed up on her forehead sits on a granite boulder along the northern shore of Stanley Park. Statue created in 1972.

It's just a statue so it's not worth going out of the way to see it... however, the park is really popular so you'll probably end up walking by it at some point. My husband and I were on a mini vacation and ended up stopping on a bench nearby and having a super great in-depth conversation for about 2 hours so she holds a special place in my heart. I've heard locals may dress her up but when we were there in July, she was just her metal self. I'm not aware if the statue has any significance.

I really do not know why this statue is so appealing, but when I saw it, it did have a seagull pooping over it, so maybe the birds know more about art than us! Worth a quick look if you have nothing to do and we stumbled on it while walking in Stanley Park.

I was on a tour, the guide said you can tell when the tide is high it comes up to her feet. Low tide well you can see the whole rock. You can find her part of the seawall walk.

If you walk the Seawall and set out to make this your destination, you’ll be disappointed. It’s one of many interesting things to look at along the walk. Certainly adds to the overall awesomeness of the Seawall.
