We spent four days and three nights exploring the Pacific Rim National Park and Tofino/Uclulet. This beach was an easy drive in from the highway, with ample parking (National Park pass needed, pay stations present at the parking lot). Unfortunately the Interpretive Center was closed for the season, but we were able to stand on its observation deck and appreciate the power of the Pacific along the impressive wide open length of the beach. There are three hiking trails within the immediate vicinity of the parking lot, we did the South Point Trail for an easy hike.

A really beautiful beach. The sea was quite rough the day we visited which was great.
There is a really interesting Visitor Centre in the former Wickaninish Inn. Lots of information about the First Nations of the area.

Wickaninnish Beach is a part of Long Beach which is the longest stretch of beach on Vancouver Island's west coast and is part of the National Park so you require a parking permit here.
This is a wild, wide sandy beach with a great swell for surfers, the water is freezing and there can be strong currents.
Beware of the bears on beach as they hunt for fish and clams there.

This 5 km trail winds through the rainforest at Wickaninnish Beach south of Tofino. It is essentially a narrow boardwalk that winds through the rain forest with very few views of the ocean. There is a charge of $19 for a family to use the trail and it provides no greater insight into the rainforest than the many other trails in this area that are free of charge. The boardwalk is wide enough for only one person at a time and is extremely slippery when wet and you have to retrace your steps along the whole route when you get to the end in order to return to your vehicle. Alternatively, the Wild Pacific Trail a few miles south at Ucluelet is incredibly beautiful, provides the same rainforest experience but also has magnificent views of the ocean all along it and it is free.

Lovely open beach with a great hike to a few other beaches in the area...if you’re in the area make sure you visit this area of the pacific rim national park as it’s less busy than Long Beach but just as beautiful!!

Have visited this beach on several occasions. Went today and it was a cloudy fall day (no rain) & it was beautiful. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful sandy beach showcasing the pacific. Strong waves make it more a surfing beach than swimming but views were amazing. Lots of parking with flushing toilets and changing facilities. There is also a visitor centre giving information about First Nation. Our favourite beach so far.

A beautiful, clean beach with plenty of parking. It even has an RV car park which is very handy. All the parking was free too which is great. There's still plenty of beach to play on at hide tide as well which made it a favourite for us.

Beautiful open beach with some driftwood. NOT a good swimming back but great for wave watching and fort building.
