What an absolutely amazing experience, with people who are so passionate about their environment. We were lucky enough to have Jake and Sophie to explain the tour and to shed some light on the marine wildlife in the waters we would be in. We had incredible weather that made the day even more special. We saw a pod of Orca feeding, which was just incredible to witness, followed by humpback whales, lots of sea birds and the seals and sea lions that call this place home.
The tour was for 3 hour, but it felt like it was over far too soon. The staff all made the trip such a remarkable experience with their enthusiasm and knowledge of the wildlife, along with the history of almost losing these amazing animals in the past. They explained the efforts to reintroduce the wildlife to the area, this has been a huge success, but there is still more to do.
Orca Spirit Adventures supports organisations to benefit the environment by providing a percentage of the ticket price to them. They are also 100% carbon neutral. Their philosophy is sound.
We would highly recommend adding this company to your itinerary if whale watching is on your agenda.

What an awesome trip we had on 22nd October 2022. Plenty of hump back whales feeding, a sea lion colony and then to see Killer whales with a new baby. Jake was very knowledgeable and made things interesting with his way of delivering info and then there was Captain Bill who got us back safely. Overall this was a long awaited trip but worth the wait and these guys made it that much more enjoyable.

A very professional whale watching company who did a great job during Covid restrictions of entertaining and educating our extended family while making us all feel safe.
Our family group was ages 2-92 and the staff were wonderful. The vessel was comfortable and everybody was appropriately spaced considering the pandemic.
I highly recommend the company.

Awful experience. Literally spent three hours on a boat in which we saw probably two whales. Waters were insanely choppy. Crew tried selling it to the crowd that the two whales we saw was worth the money and three hours. Was supposed to be the cap to an amazing cruise vacation. Completely disappointed in this excursion. Stay far away and try to book another company. Should’ve offered at least half the money back. Instead, said we can download pictures in a week of the two whales we saw. And when I say saw…it was roughly two minutes of a three hour tour. Captain didn’t even turn boat to stay with them.

Unfortunately very disappointed with this tour which happened yesterday morning, 23rd September, and feel that it’s over rated, not good value for $150 and in this case mid managed by our tour guide.

We came out of the harbour in Victoria and all the other boats had travelled to our left to view wildlife that had been spotted but our guide decided to turn right and head towards the ocean, passing the lighthouse and for a good portion of our 3 hours we saw absolutely nothing bar a few tiny porpoises and quite noticeably we were the only tour boat way down the Strait, all the other tours had gone in the opposite direction!!

Eventually, he turned round and we headed back and saw the fin of a baby humpbacked whale and then instead of looking actively for whales killed another chunk of our three hours looking at seals around the lighthouse which I for one could have seen in the Uk. Towards the end of the three hours another boat had spotted two Orcas so we went to check that out but we were so far away all we saw were two fins.

This trip provided no photo opportunities of whales, next to no whales just 3 fins and an inexperienced guide who should have followed his more experienced colleagues to where wildlife had been spotted, instead of taking us on a wild goose-chase out towards the Pacific Ocean which turned the trip into a very expensive boat ride.

I would not recommend this company. Booked through our travel agent 9 months before our vacation. We took a sea plane as part of the trip only to arrive in Victoria and being told that they had cancelled the trip due to lack of numbers. We now have to wait all day to travel back to Vancouver. Apparently they did not have our contact details, however they only cancelled whilst we were travelling to Victoria, so even if they had obtained our details it would have made no difference. They need to improve their systems, making sure that they have all the details need to contact customers and not cancelling at the last moment. Do not sell a product you cannot fulfil. A whole day wasted.

Our guide Matt got us suited up then we headed out on the zodiac. The boat ride itself was great fun, but of course we were all hoping for whales. We were very fortunate, and just as the mist cleared we were able to see a mother humpback and her calf repeatedly breeching in front of us. Matt gave us detailed commentary on the lives of these amazing creatures, and answered all our questions. Seeing whales jump out of the water like that is a once in a lifetime treat. Highly recommended.

We had booked a three hour tour with this company but due to a large group cancellation (last minute) they didn't have enough customers to run a large vessel. We didn't want to go in a zodiac as we are in our 60's and prefer comfort over adventure. the agent for Orca Spirit was very courteous and our transition to the other company was seamless. I wish we could write a review for our whale watching experience with this company but it will have to wait. What I can say is there customer service was excellent and they accommodated us to ensure we had the best possible experience, which we did... Well done Orca Spirit.

Extremely disappointed. With Orca Spirit Adventures. The boat stays far far away from the whales so you can’t photograph them unless you have a professional camera with a huge lens which don’t give you a heads up about beforehand. All the other boats crowd around the whales but our crew are more interested in using their high lens cameras so they can send out photos themselves and get you to lie and call your own. Disgusting.
Crew are more interested in their own careers and identifying each whale by letter and number, which they are eager to tell everyone. No customer focus. Total waste of significant money ($300 plus per couple).

We were lucky to have our trip led by Micky - he was so informative and passionate about his job, this made the trip extra enjoyable.
We saw so many whales! We even got close enough that we felt the mist from the whales blow hole! What an experience! After the whales we saw many seals, sea lions and an elephant seal! So cool.
This trip is totally worth it!
