- Pat HNanaimo, Canada237 contributionsTours run at 10 and 3 pm during our time in VictoriaGuided with great explanation by Danny to our group. Mix of humour and history and answered all questions. Tour is about 45 minutes and free. Gives good information and early BC and architect Rattenbury.Visited February 2023Written February 22, 2023
- 708RobinWest Sussex, United Kingdom1,459 contributionsA great history of the building from a guideThe tour takes about 40 minutes and is free. It is popular so you might have a wait until a time slot is available so get there earlier than the time you wish to go. A very interesting building which your guide will give you history of as your go around. It can be difficult to hear what they say in parts of the building with a high ceiling because of the echo so stand near the guide if you can.Visited July 2023Written July 22, 2023
- Ashish DKolkata (Calcutta), India795 contributionsGrand monument that stood the test of time! This historic edifice has stood the test of time and sits in all its grandeur at the Victorian Inner Harbour. We went around the inside too, though our tour was limited to a section of the huge building. Quite imressive!Visited June 2023Written August 23, 2023
- RockiroadsOshawa, Canada1,261 contributionsNo idea we could have had free tour but...This was a beautiful building day and night. Lit up well, you could see in from many places. In the day time, we walked the grounds, looked at the many statues around the property and read the plaques. A beautiful large tree out front you would love to get into, but cant. A lot of history here and mush to learn. I wish we knew we could get in, part of it was blocked off with some repairs. So historical looking.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten September 12, 2023

The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia is a beautiful building. It's situated in a prime location and there are some wonderfully manicured gardens around it. Free tours are offered but unfortunately they were closed at the time of our visit. At the top of the central dome of the building is the gold-covered statue of Captain George Vancouver who explored most of North America, including British Columbia.

The Legislative Assembly of BC building is one of the architectural highlights of Victoria. It is especially worth seeing at night when it is lit up, you won't miss it if you head to the harbour.

Such an interesting tour, even our teenaged boys learned something and had FUN! We weren't sure what to expect when we entered, but it turned out to be a wonderful tour and so worth our time!

It’s a beautiful building on the outside and inside. The grounds are kept clean and the landscaping is well done. On one of the days we were there a group of protesters gathered and were chanting about saving the environment.
It’s nice to see the Legislative Assembly in the day time; but it’s a must see in the evening with all the lights on and reflecting on the water of the inner harbour. Magical.

If we have bags (large) is there a place for them or can you bring them with you (after bag check)?

Hi, I doubt there is a storage location for your bags at the Parliament Building however your hotel will likely hold your bags for you if you arrive before you can check into your room.
