Like stepping back in time.... in a very good way
Jan. 2021
Loved that this historic place hasn't been redecorated. It is a lovely atmosphere and the food is very good - skip the coffee as it is tea-weak and expensive. Very calm and pleasant atmosphere.

Excellent tour
Sep. 2020 • Solo
Did the free 45 min tour of the Legislative Assembly and would highly recommend it. Currently M to F, 11 am and 2 pm on the front steps facing the harbour.
Adriana was our tour guide and she did a fabulous job of making what could be a super boring tour a tour full of interesting stories and information that I may actually retain. Probably not a tour for kids unless they are super nerds. Although they may change the format if kids are along.
It's all outdoors currently due to covid.
It's a good way to spend an hour.

Although closed to the public it was still interesting to walk around the building and enjoy the gardens and architecture.

Beautiful at night all lit up!
Sep. 2019
We had a short cruise stop here one evening and after dark the Parliament Building is outlined in lights! Sometimes call "the birdcage" as it looks like a Victorian era birdcage lit up. If you get here early enough, take the free tour!

Lovely FREE One-hour Guided Tour
Aug. 2020
Adrienne was a wonderful tour guide on our free one-hour tour. We went during the COVID-19 pandemic so the tour only covered the outside of the building. We were also lucky in that only the two of us signed up for that time so we basically had a private tour! Adrienne was bubbly, knowledgeable - and really loves the history of not just the Legislative Building, but also other areas of Victoria too. Her passion and enthusiasm rubs off and she's a wonderful storyteller. Highly recommend this free tour of the Legislative Building - it'll add some interesting facts, stories, and context to your visit.

Informative
Aug. 2020 • Family
I went with my daughter for the outdoor tour. Nicholas was a fabulous guide full of historical information. He was easy to talk to, easy to understand and was good at ensuring the appetite in the group were social distancing.
Myra also was very helpful at giving us suggestions on places to eat.

Great
Jul. 2019
An amazing architecture building looks stunning in front of the water front, with huge lawns even though building is not open to visitor all the time. Evening are beautiful in front of the building when the lights are on and lot of horse carriages going up and down with tourists
