Wonderful Theatre

I have been to concerts, operas etc. here and there is not a bad seat in the house. Parking can be a bit tricky. Many good restaurants nearby if you want to have dinner first

My wife, son and daughter-in-law and I attended an excellent performance of this popular choral recital at the Royal Theatre. The line up to get in was longer than anticipated due to the popularity of this performance. The staff were polite and efficient and the seating was acceptable. The overhead translation of this work from the Latin was difficult to... More

Sweet ⅔ size hall. Very steeply raked seating upstairs. Beware of balcony searing if you have mobility issues.

It helps that I know and love the Royal (both as an audience and as a performer). The box office is well run, the lobby is beautiful and the seats are fairly comfortable for longer performances (especially if the performance is a good one). The Victoria Symphony calls the Royal home, as do many of the Victoria and visiting dance... More

I really appreciate how centrally located this theatre is. I have sat in every section in this theatre and have never had an issue with seeing the stage. The chairs could use an update, but that's to be expected! Pro Tip - park in the Broughton St parkade. The first hour is free and then only $2 after that. And,... More

This is Victoria's largest theatre. It sits right on Blanchard and is an icon for the city. The elevation of rows makes viewing very good from most seats and the seats are very comfortable. The decor takes you back in time but the lobby is modern. I love the side loges which are classic.

We've been to this theatre to watch stand-up comedy, the Nutcracker, and several musical productions. We have had seating right up front and way in the nose-bleeds. Always loved it there. I love the old-world feel and look of the place.

We love this theatre! It's very similar to a European opera house. Sight lines are very good, and the acoustics are terrific. Most operas were written to be enjoyed in a venue of this size. Pacific Opera Victoria's seasons are often better than Vancouver Opera's. They have supportive subscribers and take more risks in their programming.
