Whenever we are in Victoria we stay at the sublime Fairholme Manor which is adjacent to Government House. After breakfast, a walk in the beautiful gardens of Government House is a must.

The building and grounds are very impressive. It has a very historical feel and is peaceful to just wander around. Staff were very friendly and informative. It has an excellent view. Very good place to attend an event also. Lots of interesting things to see....More

I am rating this based on park / grounds around the Government house. We walked these trails daily - we saw deer, variety of birds, squirrels and lot of hummingbirds. The park is so very clean.

We spent about a half hour walking around the grounds but did not go into the house. Visiting dignitaries often stay here. A lovely place to enjoy some quiet.

Once a month, open house is held offering free tours of this stately property. The dining table is elegantly set for about fourty people and the ballroom is awesome. The massive wood staircase with stained glass takes you back to a former era. Beautiful grounds...More

Run by volunteers and you could not have spoken to nicer people. Look around the museum and had tea at the cafe. The ladies there are a treat to speak to. Lovely time here.

This was actually quite a pleasant surprise. We just turned in because the grounds looked incredible. The Gardens are so well kept and its just a lovely location to walk around and smell the roses. A nice place to swing by to unwind and wander.

We could not visit Government House but the extensive gardens and walks were open for viewing. Unfortunately the Tea House was not open, as we could have done with a break.

I went there with my daughter forget activities. Victoria is a nice and comfortable city. Not too big, not too small. It is safe for her ( she want to go to UVIC) to live. I like there.

The the grounds are very rarely closed - the last time was when the Prince and Princess and children stayed there. Other than that, I can't recall a time when the grounds were not open to the public.
