Expansive and beautiful. The gardens were well taken care of and there were breathtaking views of the bay.

The gardens at Govt. House are spectacular. Much better than the Disneyland spectacle of Butchart Gardens, much more peaceful, less crowded, and free to the public. Information panels around the gardens provide lots of historical info. We intended on spending an hour here but ended...More

This is a great place to visit for the beautiful grounds and gardens. We actually have been here many times and still found new areas we hadn't walked through before. We sat in the shade on the lawn and had a picnic lunch. They had...More

I ambled across this after a visit to the Art Gallery. Loved the beautiful gardens and felt the inspiration that I used to get from Butchart. I didn't take a tour inside, just strolled around and enjoyed the serenity and views. Added a stop at...More

This was such a wonderful afternoon to visit the beautiful gardens and see all the beautiful gardens. We even saw many deers. The museum of period clothing pieces was wonderful. A great afternoon.

We accidentally stumbled upon this place (on our walk from the Craigdarroch Castle) and celebratory music made us venture inside the grounds to see this gorgeous park with acres and acres of flowers and beautiful lawns. That particular day was Queen's birthday celebration so lots...More

A tour of this "state house" is a must for history buffs. The building is beautifully maintained and has exhibits that explain BC history, and the legislative process. In the evening, Government House is lit up, and makes a beautiful scene from the harbor.

This was a very short walk from our B&B. Open from sunrise to sunset. Interior of building was closed as they were filming a 2019 release of a Disney movie for Netflicks. Crew members were very friendly and engaged in interesting conversations. Nice view of...More

The gardens are really beautiful and the views from the lookout points are gorgeous. There is also a costume museum and a tearoom with the best scones in Victoria!

The the grounds are very rarely closed - the last time was when the Prince and Princess and children stayed there. Other than that, I can't recall a time when the grounds were not open to the public.
