The Magnolia Hotel sits in an outstanding location , just 2 blocks from Victoria's picturesque inner harbour and in the heart of the city's best shopping, dining and entertainment.
Cuddled up beside the spectacular Magnolia Hotel is the Spa Magnolia.....ah the spa. The Spa Magnolia is a much deserved escape from the everyday trials and tribulations of life. This wellness sanctuary is adjacent to the Hotels lobby and is outfitted with 7 indulgent treatment rooms, a mammoth relaxing lounge and a repertoire of programs that addresses the mind, body and soul. The spa prides itself on using organic health and beauty ingredients in routines designed to revitalize the entire body. The Spa Magnolia's signature therapy is performance-based facial treatments and provides top-notch skin care using high-technology and scientifically
tested products and methods.
One can get pampered from head to toe with a tempting selection of messages, facials, body treatments and spa packages. I opted for the Sports Styled Deep Tissue Massage. My therapist applied medium to deep pressure to relieve my muscle aches incurred from a biking venture............he personalized the massage according to my needs.....and in the end I felt quite new, ready for another bike trek.

Easy to get to and to park near; separate entrance beside the hotel. Small but nicely decorated reception and client spaces. Filled with product but zero pressure to sell me any of it. Friendly staff quickly provided me with tea, a warm and generous robe, and rubber slippers. No snacks - maybe that's a COVID thing - that other similar spas seem to offer as you wait. Treatments are well organized, comfy heated beds, state of the art equipment, staff demonstrated excellent skills with just the right amount of chatting, quiet, moments, attention and privacy. Products are from Australia and have a nice sandalwood/lavender aroma I think. It met all my expectations. Whether you are a regular spa client or this is the first visit to the world of spa treatments, this is a good choice.

This was the best relaxing massage I ever experienced, and I get a lot of them :-) It was above and beyond the usual. The room, the lighting, the music and mainly the competence of the esthetician/masseuse. I felt refreshed and rejuvenated. I highly recommend to stop by and enjoy a treatment and the Spa Magnolia.

My girlfriends got this as a gift for me for my birthday. Had the men’s hydra facial, medi and pedi. The spa is immaculate and the robes were comfy.
Akane was professional, friendly and an amazing aesthetician. Definitely will request her for future bookings.
Cannot wait to surprise my partner and bring him for his birthday in the New Year!

If you want to be told how bad your skin is by the furthest thing away from a dermatologist (spa "therapist") and be constantly up-sold by commission based practitioners then this is the place for you. This spa is far too over priced and pretentious. I recommend others don't waste their time as there are lot of far superior spas in Victoria. Shame on the management for shilling their own beauty brand and promoting such awful practices. Pay your staff more so they don't feel the need to try the used car salesman approach. Spas should be encouraging of self care not using negative sales tactics to meet a quota.

Wow what an amazing experience every time I go I leave feeling soooo refreshed. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, professional, and high end. I would highly recommend getting any of their facials and their organic skin care line is to die for!!! Can’t wait for my next treatment :)

This is our third visit to the Magnolia and it just keeps getting better. It has now been rated Canada’s 2nd best hotel. What a wonderful location, right downtown, within walking distance to 90% of Victoria’s shopping and attractions. Depending on your room, you can see the Provincial Parliament buildings. Only a couple of blocks from the Empress. The rooms are comfortable, very clean and very quiet. The staff is efficient and discreet. We love this place and will continue to stay here.

I'll start with the bad experience. During our visit to the spa my sister and I both enjoyed the robes. After enquiring with the Spa's receptionist, I went over to the hotel to purchase two. When I asked if they had the robes that were of the 'more generous' size (loved the way they phrased that at the spa), I was told coldly and blankly that those were not sold in the hotel. I asked if there was another way I could purchase one, perhaps online. Like a robot she said exactly the same thing as before with a cold, hard stare. It would have been nice if she could have been at all helpful, perhaps with a brand name or even polite would have been an improvement.
On to the good experience - the Spa! I'm in Victoria visiting family and now that the kids are older I thought it would be nice to do something just for my sister and myself. We were greeted and immediately taken to change into large fluffy robes. We were given lockers with keys to leave our belongings and hang our clothes. We were then escorted to the lounge where we completed forms and waited for our service providers. A fountain and calming music created pleasant background noise. Tea and water were available and a sample of aroma therapies. My provider greeted me warmly and made me feel at ease. The treatment room was warm and dimly lit, very peaceful. I had the Spa Magnolia Signature treatment. I appreciated that the tub was located in the same room for rinsing after the scrub. The hydrotherapy jets were stimulating and relaxing. The massage after was excellent and comparable to massages I've had for therapy with LMTs. I was so pleased at this point I forgot about the facial! The scent of the facial product, tranquility, was wonderful. Long into the evening I received positive comments on the delicate scent when greeting and hugging family members. My sister had a massage and pedicure. She said she fell asleep during the pedicure - that is amazingly gentle. My sister surprised me at the end by treating me to my spa experience, another reason I really wanted to get her a robe. I would go back to the spa, probably avoid the hotel on future visits.

I went with my mother for pedicure ( medical pedicure for her ) the staff were kind and attentive, the most gentle hands smoothed out my bumpy toes..... the room was comfortable and the treatment wonderful. I think I even managed to convince my mom to go back regularly!
