Phenomenal experience! The truck and gear were great and the tent (Tepui) is excellent. Easy setup. Got lots of compliments from other campers on our trip. Stayed dry in a thunderstorm. Customer service was top notch and communication was on point; can’t recommend enough if you’re looking for an overland experience in BC.

I just finished up a rental of "Roxanne" with my husband and we are already preparing for a return trip to Vancouver Island to rent the vehicle again!
This vehicle was stocked so perfectly for camping in the wilderness, from the french press coffee maker and thermos to the solar shower bag you can use if you aren't staying in Provincial parks. The kitchen was stocked with cookware including a griddle pan, a cast iron pan, two pots and a pan set with lids, cutlery for four, a cutting board and miscellaneous items like can openers and cork screws that you tend to forget you need until it's too late.
The tent was so easy to set up and was quality! It rained nearly every day but there were no leaks! There's a separate attachment you can add so can sit in a dry area around the ladder but aren't restricted to just sitting in your tent. There is also a separate popup tent to sit under should you want to sit around a picnic table in the rain.
Sam provided us with a series of back road map books that listed area rec sites and descriptions. This was so helpful!

Abbie and Sam were very flexible and wonderful to work with for organizing my trip. Sam greeted me at the airport and familiarized me with all the systems and gear for my excursion. They even crafted a custom trip itinerary and a helpful guide for all my stops. The weather was not favourable but my trusty stead Roxanne was. The Toyota truck was well stocked with everything you could need for a weekend plus firewood, beer and hot chocolate! The Tepui tent was warm and nicely insolated for many rainy nights. Setup is easier with two, but I made do. Thank you again for a fab time on the island Abbie and Sam. Cheers

Fantastic company and operators, above and beyond expectation for this service.
The Truck and all camping gear was clean, simple and safe to use. It enable us to access some of the beautiful treasure on B.C. Backroads North of Vancouver.

FarOut provided the truck for the best weekend ever! Sam and Abbie were very kind to have met up with us in Downtown, Vancouver for the hand off and pick up, and provided everything you would want to have and need for a weekend getaway. Sam did an amazing job giving a run down of the truck and made sure to have answered any questions you may have. Super nice and knowledgeable people!
We spent the weekend up at a local lake, and the Tacoma (coined Roxanne) performed so well on the forest service road on our way up there, it such a breeze. The tent was nice and easy to set up, and super comfortable - only took 10 mins to set up after Sam demonstrated it during the hand off. However, the star of the show was definitely the bed slide system that is installed in the back of the truck; including the pull out stove. It made it super easy to access your bins and gear from the bed - I was constantly amazed by how efficient the system was every time I stepped up to the back of the truck.
Though there wasn't any service, Sam provided a spot GPS tracker which allowed us to contact him or any emergency services had anything gone south - which made us feel very safe.
All in all, I would highly recommend hiring this vehicle not only for how equipped it is, but also for how attentive and knowledgeable the hosts are to make sure that you have the best getaway experience!

Sam and Abbie are are excellent hosts! They gave us lots of trip options that they scouted beforehand, and a full rundown of the setup before letting us head off. The truck is completely set up for backroad exploring with the family, including the 1 year-old!

We had a great time on our trip with FarOut Wilderness. The truck has a great setup with everything you could need for camping. We loved the rooftop tent - Sam gave us a demo of how it worked when we picked the truck up and we had the tent set up in less than ten minutes. The tent and truck are really comfortable and as the package includes recovery and a GPS locator it feels safe to travel in remote areas. The company are very quick to respond to questions and to help with anything we needed, even offering custom itineraries. Highly recommended!
