Had a lovely one hour carriage ride. The ride was very enjoyable. It was the first halloween tour, the driver was good.

The driver and horse were amazing! Wonderful tour, great views, very knowledgeable!
The trip was quite pricey though. I hope they compensate the drivers well because when I did a similar tour about 7 years ago, it was at least half the price.
Also, the waiver process is overly complicated to do online. You should be able to add everyone on the same page and sign for kids under 18 all on the same page.
But, the tour itself and the staff are absolutely wonderful! Definitely recommend it.

Lovely Tour

I had scheduled this carriage ride because our cruise ship would not arrive in Victoria until 9:00pm. We got to port early, they were easy to find, they allowed us to go on the tour early. The woman we were with (and I wish I could remember her name) was very knowledgeable and very kind. Our tour was short because that's what we scheduled but we loved every minute.

Not what i expected

Would have liked to learn more about the city. Not what i expected. We walked most of the area that the driver took us to. Just a residential neighborhood

Our driver was awesome. She was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. We had 6 adults. We all fit, but it was a bit snug. I would recommend 4 people max for comfort.

A So-So experience

We did a carriage ride on our honeymoon many years ago. That one was informative about the history, architecture and nature. This ride was rather uninteresting, taking us through average neighborhoods, without much to see or discuss. The driver was difficult to understand because her voice just did not project. Overall, we were disappointed, especially considering the price.

Traffic was backed up and driver was rude and aggressive to cars trying to pass. We felt super awkward. Horses smelled and it was not what we expected, Save your money take a peddle cab,. We had way more fun for less. If you read about the horse carriage industry it is notorious for animal cruelty, Most cities have banned horse carnages for this reason.

Expected more for the high price

I was so excited to do this. After seeing the pictures, I’m confused. Paid over $150 to see nothing the first 1/2. Passed by closed down gas stations, a park with homeless tents, etc. When I called I was under the impression the ride goes around the beautiful harbor area etc.
Our horse was sweet, and guide was nice, but she talked so much the entire time, even bad jokes, it spoiled it. It was a late evening ride, and some quiet time to try and enjoy the sounds the horse makes while walking would have been nice.

If you book clarify your route, and maybe state you would like some quiet time. The history talk and horse info is nice, but then give a few moments for the family to interact.
