Good for you “Tally Ho” for offering us locals something different ! We enjoyed our afternoon so much and will recommend the “Sea Cidery Tour” happily. It was so nice to slow down and enjoy the stunning views we to often take for granted. The cider flights were fantastic and the boxed picnic lunch by Truffles was very tasty. In these times, it’s so inspiring to see local businesses step up and think outside the box to offer Us something new! Keep up the great work Tally Ho!

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing carriage ride through farmland and residential areas to the Sea Cidery where a generous and delicious gourmet picnic was provided, along with a tasting flight of a half dozen different ciders.
Courtney and Sage, our drivers, and Major-the horse with personality, were well trained and safety conscious. Major seemed to love working in harness and greeted various other animals along the way with a happy nod and a spring in his step. Traffic passing us on the road was slow and respectful and everyone smiled and waved. We hope Tally Ho will do more tours in the local rural areas in future. We liked the ride so well that a couple of days later we went downtown and had Wendy drive us around the Legislature and James Bay with her blue eyed horse Clay. Again, safety and cleanliness were paramount and both horse and driver were well trained and knowledgeable. Such a relaxing way to spend the afternoon!

We had a 30 minute evening tour to view Christmas lights this week and it was amazing. The owners allowed us to change our booking last minute so we could take advantage of the fleeting dry weather. During the tour our driver provided us with historical facts as we glided along in a comfortable carriage watching the Christmas lights on the yachts and on the Parliament buildings. A lovely break from being cooped up at home!

We did a tour with Tally-Ho and Major to the Sea Cidery in Central Saanich. The tour began at Fresh Cup where we were treated to a coffee, then our carriage arrived moments later and we were greeted by friendly staff. Our trip to the cidery was about 40 minutes(one way) past the farms of Saanich with a great view of Haro Strait. The tasting was excellent, 20% off ciders was a bonus, and the picnic from Truffles Catery was very deelish! Our group of 4 all really enjoyed ourselves and would not hesitate to recommend this new tour to anyone looking for a fun new experience...expecially locals!!

We were fortuante enough to have a beautiful sunny day and the luxury of a Tally Ho carriage ride to Sea Cidery where we sat in the sun and enjoyed a tasting and a delicious picnic lunch from Truffles Catering, then a trip back in the carriage. It was a perfect moment out of time and so lovely to slow down and enjoy the views with the background sounds of hooves. I felt safe and the Covid protocols everywhere we went were excellent. I hope Tally Ho continues to think out of the box and offer these kinds of excursions next year as well.

We had a perfect sunny afternoon for our Christmas carriage tour. Our horse Tucker was a real character and our extended family of five loved it. We brought carrots for our horse and had our tour through Saanichton with our complimentary coffee in hand. Lovely family operation. Highly recommended.

We unfortunately have forgoten our drover's name but "Clay" was the horsepower! Both were outstanding...Clay is a big Clydsedale who doesn't get ruffled by anything. Our driver was very nice, full of local information and did everything she could to make sure we had a great time. She even paused the drizzly weather for us!

Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback, Neil! I'm going to guess that your driver was Wendy, as she and Clay are often paired together. And extra points to Wendy for controlling the weather! Now THAT's the service we love to provide! haha.

1 drop of rain caused the tour guide to put the canopy up but it never rained. The canopy cut our view in half, we all ended up with sore backs trying to see out of the carriage. The canopy also made it Impossible to hear anything the guide talked about. We didn't see another carriage with the canopy up so that was strange. When the the trip was over we reached out to managment to let them know our experience sucked but was met with a to bad so sad. Not the way I would run a company.

We did a 90minute tour of Victoria horse drawn carriage it was suppose to be at 9 but we were late getting off ship. But they waited and we got our full time. We toured for an hour the extra 30 minutes was to pick us up and drop us off at the port it was worth it rather than walking cause we had elderly in our group. It says up to 6 people. 6 skinny people!! If you or thicker I would only do 5. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The horse and carriage was beautiful. The only bad thing was that we were that at night. Wasn't there fault. We enjoyed our stroll around looking at beautiful stain glass and other stuff around the city. I just wish we were there in the daylight cause Victoria is a beautiful place

The last time I visited Victoria I was disappointed. I've been to Victoria many times and always did the Tally Ho tour. My date isn't listed. The last time I went was in the 1990s. The driver would be standing by the carriage calling for people to get in the carriage and had him or her cash--$5-$10. It was fun! Now it looks like you have to make reservations and pay $150 for a 30 minute tour. I was in Victoria in 2023. The Tally-ho tour was too expensive.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us back in the 1990s! Tally-Ho has been providing horse-drawn services in Victoria for 121 years (since 1903) and we love how many people have great memories with us! Back in the 1990s Tally-Ho operated large, double-horse drawn wagons that sat 20 people and would do a prescribed route. Today, 30 years later, we offer a very different experience with our private single-horse drawn carriages that allow us to provide personalized tours and our guests to choose from various routes. We have 21 draft horses in our herd, including youngsters in training, working horses who become ambassadors for their at-risk breeds, and retirees cashing in on their Tally-Ho "pension plan". It takes a team of over 40 passionate people and costs over $25,000 a month to provide top-notch care for the horses.
