We had a couple of spare hours before leaving Victoria and stumbled across this gem on the waterfront. Nicely laid out gallery with some paintings that really deserve some time to admire the workmanship, and read up on the motivation behind it

Aside from the art the gallery also has bird songs embedded into the gallery so the paintings can come alive with the wave of a hand. Non flash photography is along allowed.

My wife and I enjoyed seeing so many Bateman originals and artist prints. A friendly and knowledgeable docent was present to answer questions and offer more information. Well worthwhile.

We visited the centre and found the life story very interesting. The artwork was superb. One of the reasons I was drawn to the exhibit was the section where the art was combined with the sound tracks of the birds singing. This didn't work. I...More

We watched the introduction video first as advised, then into the gallery. My word! His painting are so intricate and invite so much close up examination. His subjects come to life and our one and half hours there just sped by. If you like birds,...More
