Small gallery showcasing different exhibits. Check their calendar first. At the time of our visit, it was showing Robert Bateman's work. Lucky us since we both admire his works.

I wasn't looking for this place, just wandered by and saw the signs. Went in to see what it was about. So glad that I did. A small space and very helpful staff at the front desk, who explained what I would see. Watched some videos as I walked through the exhibit, was really insightful. Well worth the visit.

Very little of actual Bateman works. Big disappointment. There are more Bateman works in the gift shop. Very sad experience.

If you are a Bateman fan I think you will be disappointed. Seven decades of creating art and there are not many paintings of his in this gallery. You won't need more than 25 minutes at most in the gallery.

we took a day trip to Victoria and spent time at the Bateman Gallery. his paintings were most impressive. the displays and videos were informative and educational. the receptionist was helpful and we donated in support of the gallery's great work. we learnt more about this outstanding Canadian artist as a person. this gallery promotes better understanding of Bateman's work. must visit and support.

Small gallery with a few Bateman pieces - when we visited there was only a large show on S.Woolfes art that was very informative and inspiring on forest fires.
Entry is by donation only.

Entrance by donation. The Bateman story is interesting, but only takes about 1/2 hr. Did not care much for the other artist's exibition.

This gallery is run by the Bateman Foundation. There are quite a number of Bateman works and some interesting information about his career. But what made the visit extraordinary was the work of photographer, Thomas Mangelson. It was titled A Life in the Wild and was fantastic as were the videos of him at work. If you've ever scene the iconic picture of the salmon jumping up a waterfall right into a grizzly's mouth, that his work. Admission is by donation.

A somewhat limited perspective of his work although the information on his personal and professional history was interesting. An excellent display of the impact of the garment and textile industry upon the environment, and upon society.
