We offer guided wilderness hikes along our majestic coastlines, mountain view and throughout our lush Rain Forest. We also specialize in luxury wine tours out of Victoria. The vineyards on Vancouver Island produce award winning white and red wines. So join us as we take you around to some of Vancouver Islands finest vineyards. We offer transportation in our full size 6 passenger luxury Toyota Grand Highlander SUV, and for larger groups our 14 passenger luxury Ford Transit Touring Van. My husband and I came to Victoria to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We wanted to tour more then just Victoria as beautiful as it is but didn’t want to rent a car. Our hotel recommended Darwin of Surfside tours. We had a simply amazing day. Darwin was very intuitive and quickly realized that we wanted to do some scenic photography so he gave us a totally customized trip around the southern tip of the Island. By the end of the 8 hours we spent with him we felt that we had known him a long time and I hope,we,can keep in touch. Darwin is so knowledgeable and gave us so much information of each area we went to. He knew where to stop to get the perfect photo and he also knew where to stop for lunch so that my husband could have his sockeye salmon he had been dying for! Surfside has many options for touring including hiking tours. We highly recommend Surfside Adventures. You will not be disappointed! Thank you, Darwin! You are the best!!z,

Our driver picked our group
Up on our street and drove us up to the Cowichan Valley to tour four wineries. We started out with a tasting and lunch at the first winery. Everything had been organized for us and we got to sit back and enjoy the tour and wines! Super friendly, reasonable rates and on schedule. Will do it again for certain!

A lovely tour to see most of Victoria British Columbia.
As we came on a cruise we were tied up for time,so this was the best option.
Saw so many places of interest & beautiful places.
The Driver of the Bus who also acted as the Guide was very interesting,If I remember correctly, his name is Pete.
All in all it was memorable tour.

We got a cab outside our hotel in downtown Vancouver ($85) to Tsawwassen termInal and arrived by ferry ($17.50) to Swartz Bay where our guide, Chris, picked us up. Chris shared a lot of knowledge about the history of the area as well as many interesting facts. We were 4 adults travelling in a comfortable van seeing Highlights of the city of Victoria, the beautiful coastline, Beacon Hill, the largest totem pole in the world, the panoramic views from Mt Tolmie, Goldstream Park where the massive cedar trees are 500+years as well as many other points of interest. Thank you Chris for a very enjoyable day. Thanks Darwin for your helpful emails prior to the tour. I misplaced my iphone on the tour and on arriving back in Australia Darwin and Chris were very helpful in returning it to me. I am very grateful for their kindness.

We spent a fantastic morning with Darwin. He picked us up promptly at our hotel and offered us several options based on our interests and ability. We chose two different beautiful locations to explore. Darwin was knowledge and interesting. It felt like we were hiking with an expert friend. He took care of all our needs and was quite generous with his time. We’d highly recommend his services.

Darwin was pleasant and had great local knowledge.He was flexible when we requested stops at cheese shops etc and the 8 hr tour was a good choice .The walk to Kinsol tressel was worth it and it was nice to walk in the forest .The tour was a good balance of different things.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a kind review. I had a wonderful time with the both of you. Just so you understand why we take phone calls on tour, and we try not to but it's for the guests safety. We take a lot of groups into remote areas daily that have no cell phone service, so we stay in contact with other drivers so we know where we're at, so in the case of a break down or any other safety issues we know where our drivers are in case won't don't hear from them. This helps us find them quicker in case we need to send help.
Plus we serve hundreds of clients like yourself and we do our best to respond when necessary to assure their travel plans are efficient, so we do our best to accommodate when we're working 16 hours a day tourung.

We booked this tour through Tours By Locals on the web months before the tour. Darwin arrived at our hotel in Victoria on time and gave us a great tour of three wineries and a chocolate shop. Darwin grew up in the Cowichan Valley, so he knows the area, the people, the winery, and the places to eat very well. Traffic to this area from Victoria can be a real challenge and Darwin knows how get around it. We really enjoyed our 6 hour tour and our time with Darwin. We were just a couple but Darwin offers tours for larger groups.

This tour company is hands down the best in Victoria. We were lucky to have Darwin as our guide again and he is top notch. All he cares about is making his customers happy and he does just that! We went out on Sunday with 8 friends and had the best time ever. He went above and beyond for us (again) and we can not recommend him enough. We will only book our tours with Surfside!

Hi! My name is Regina. We arrive to Victoria on june 27th with the celebrity Solstice. We are a party of 21!!! we only have a few ours. we have children and adults. We would love to go to the gardens and any other suggestions, since the time available we have is from 6 pm to 11 pm.... but I think 6-9 or 10 would be ok... considering dinner maybe....
