Really cool place!
Jul. 2019 • Couples
Great little shop downstairs, especially for Star Wars toys/collectibles, etc but there's much more there too. And upstairs is the (fee by donation) Toy Museum of Canada, which while very small (just one room) has some real gems... I discovered the Big Jim Sportscamper, which I had as a kid (early-mid 70s), so cool!!

Highlight of our trip!
Jun. 2019 • Family
We loved Victoria... and couldn't think of having a better time, until we stumbled into Cherry Bomb Toys, and the Toy Museum. My husband and son are avid toy collectors-husband much more so than toddler- but that's unimportant. The guys were so nice, and knowledgable about... basically, anything we asked. My husband was in heaven exploring their museum, and then the "gift shop" below. Lots of vintage Star Wars, Pee Wee Herman, Heman, GI Joes, stuff.. Us 80's kids were really in our element. Our son, a Toy Story fanatic, was thrilled to see that they had Buzz Lightyear! The guys gifted him two, which he says was the best part of our trip. The only souvenirs we got on our vacation came from Cherry Bomb! Wish I had gotten a T-shirt! Can't wait to go back, and hope to for their event in October!

Toy Store and Small Museum; Toys and Collectibles from about 1960s Forward
Mar. 2019 • Family
Cherry Bomb Toys is in an area of Victoria with lots of unusual shops, many devoted to board games and the like. The location is part vintage toy store and part museum.

The museum is devoted to toys that will be from the childhood of many visitors. Most seemed to be from the 1970s, although there many from before then. There are scads of Star Wars figurines, but also robots, dolls, lego items, Dr. Who (I counted about 8 Daleks) and others.

The lower level is a store - you can actually buy this stuff. The upper floor is the museum, with admission by donation.

This is worth a quick and fun trip down memory lane, but it cannot be described as a major attraction. We enjoyed it about a half hour or so and then moved on.

Blast from the past
Aug. 2018 • Solo
This vintage and collectible toy shop with a toy museum upstairs is definitely worth the visit. I stumbled upon it while walking through the streets of Victoria and was so excited to be in there. The memories come flooding back instantly as you look at toys from the original Legos to Fisher Price Little People to Spider-Man and old game systems like Atari. Love this place and a very friendly staff included!

Vintage toys and a toy museum, a great place to check out.

I love going here, the selection of vintage Transformers,G.I.Joe and other 80's toys is great. They carry newer stuff and a huge selection of Lego and Star Wars items. Upstairs is a toy museum that is like a snapshot of the history of Toys. The staff are passionate and the owners make this a true mom and pop run business. Even if you don't have kids or collect toys this should be a place to check out and they also have a nice selection of vinyl records.

Fun find
Jul. 2017 • Family
I saw that this place offered Lego classes. I didn't want the class but thought that there might be some fun stull to look at. I was right. It had a lot of great stuff, from comic character items to gaming to toys to sci-fi, it was more than just a toy store. There was a fun toy museum upstairs (accessible only by stairs) that was pretty cool. I was glad we made it a stop on out trip. It was not huge but I managed to spend an hour in there looking around. The staff was nice and helpful as well.

Cool find

Going to the visitor centre we learned about this spot. Took a wander over downtown and was not disappointed. Flashback to childhood looking at all these toys. There are toys for sale as well as toys to look at. There are a few arcade games to play as well. The museum entrance fee is donation based so make sure you have cash. A good place to visit while looking around downtown.

An Accidental Stumble
Feb. 2017 • Couples
We stumbled across Cherry Bomb toys by accident when walked home from a day downtown. At first we were a little hesitant to go in, since it isn't the most friendly looking store. However I am happy we went in. The service was outstanding, honestly the staff made the experience so much better. The toys in the store bring you back to your childhood, and started amazing conversations between my boyfriend and I. Plus the museum upstairs really added something special to the experience. The lego display was super neat! If you are ever in the area and want to be transported back to your childhood, this is for sure where to go.
