I was 15 mins early and waited an hour in the rain but this bus service never showed. Someone else at the stop was also waiting for it and had gotten there even earlier. He said it was not the first time this has happened to him. There is no way to immediately contact the company; it can take days to get a response to an email. Do not count on this company. It is better to make plans as if this service did not exist.

My recent business trip down to Victoria was made enjoyable by travelling via Wilson's bus lines from Nanaimo to Victoria. The very capable and friendly driver was a highlight of the trip. Travelling the Malahat in the winter months is not my most favourite activity but this trip was made easy by taking the bus.

Don’t!
They are a connector service and if you book and your flights to YVR are delayed there is no refund when you miss the coach.
Uber and a walk on from YVR to Tsawwassen is cheaper than this coach ticket.
It’s ok if you are resident but I leave in the UK and am travelling back from YYJ.

Absolutely dreadful experience!!On September 16th, I had a reservation from Vancouver Airport to Victoria. When I arrived at the desk to check in, I was informed that they did not have a bus on Vancouver Island because of a technical glitch and that once I got off the ferry, I had to make my own way to Victoria. I asked to speak with a manager and spoke with Stefan, who provided The Worst Customer Service I have ever experienced. His attitude was basically it's not our fault, deal with it. Having never been to Vancouver Island I had no idea if taxis or public transportation was available at the ferry terminal. When I informed Stefan that my contract with Wilson Transportation was to get me from the airport to Victoria and that they should supply a taxi or some other form of transportation, his answer was a flat no. There was also an elderly couple in the same situation but he didn't care. He guaranteed us that he would refund the portion of the tickets that they were unable to fulfill, back to our credit cards. To date I have not received it. I contacted the company and they said they would send me a check in 30 days!!!A check in Canadian currency is not much use when you do not have a Canadian bank account!!! Overall an absolutely awful experience.

We were traveling from Vancouver to Victoria without a car. They allowed us an easy way to get from point A to point B seamlessly. The bus was comfortable and the ferry ride was lovely. Both left right on time. The cost was also very reasonable.

Booked this tour through NCL cruise lines as we wanted to see the gardens as well as the town. The highlights part of this was by far the worst tour I've ever had to endure. Over 2 hours of narrative consisting of: restaurants the bus driver's wife likes(you can't see it from here but just down the block inside the hotel...), reading signs...that's the freightliner dealership in case you want to buy a truck, and landmarks that "you can't see it but its popular with the locals". He also discussed condo prices in town and the one place he took us to see a view of the city we couldn't make a stop to take pictures.
The gardens were fantastic but because of the long winded nature of the driver and his scenic detours (thank you I've seen a college campus before) we were limited in time and had to rush through. We ended up with less than an hour to see the gardens during our 5 hour tour. The other busses on the same route were at the gardens long before our bus arrived. If I were to do it over again I think I'd go through one of the vendors selling tours as you disembark

The bus line up that this company uses, seems to be the cast off rejects of other bus companies. Blue and black smoke in abundance out of the exhaust change the Garden City to the Gagging City. I suggest a boycott to this bus line until they give maintenance more serious consideration.
I even noticed their broken down buses along the side of the road. Not a great bus line.

Dear Larry, In response to your review of our company, Wilson’s prides itself on our impeccable safety and maintenance record with both the NSC and the US DOT. The noise and emission testing of all of our vehicles are done in house as well as outside agencies and would not be on the road if they did not meet or exceed standards.

We had a school bus as a mass charter last year the driver was angry with traffic and I felt unsafe in the bus as I am a class 1 driver.

Wait times on the phone are ridiculously long. You’ll wait 10-15 minutes during the day to speak to a customer service agent even if caller #1 in wait list. Don’t even bother after 5 pm.!!

I learned today that Wilson's Transportation owns Vancouver Island Connector and Tofino Bus. One of our guests reserved a seat in advance to be picked up in Buckley Bay. Was there 10 minutes early. After waiting 35 minutes a Vancouver Island Connector bus sped by. I looked up Vancouver Island Connector on my phone and was redirected to the Tofino Bus website. Called the 1-800 line and waited another 20 minutes before speaking to someone. She was friendly enough, but she had no way of contacting the driver. All she could do was put me on hold and call dispatch. The buses don’t have radios. All they have is the bus driver’s cell. Either way, they weren’t able to reach the driver. By this time it was 50 minutes after the scheduled pickup time. Our guest had to get to Nanaimo in time to catch another Tofino Bus to Tofino. In the meantime an IslandLink Bus shows up. Ended up paying another fare to Nanaimo, which Tofino Bus better reimburse me for. VERY DISAPPOINTED with Tofino Bus! (Aka Wilson’s, aka Vancouver Island Connector). Will not use them again.

Does this company offer say a 3 day tour of Vancouver Island, including the Butchart Gardens?

We offer a day trip from Vancouver to Victoria with our Victoria Day Tour using our BC Ferries Connector and yes it does visit Butchart Gardens. Please contact our office directly by email for further assistance in your planning if you like.
