Skanda was founded in 2001 by Mary Wakefield, whose impeccable taste and constant strive for only the highest quality materials, for designing one-of-a-kind custom jewellery has made Skanda the quintessential choice for discerning buyers. At Skanda, all of our one of a kind jewellery is manufactured right on site by local designers.

Skanda is a one of a kind gem shop. The owner buys very good quality gemstone lines, findings and supplies for beading. Her and her staff always keep up to date on design and present varied ideas if their house-made jewellery - well worth a visit!!!

Skanda is one of a kind..a wonderful,exciting and innovative shop of surprises`!
Mary Wakefield,the amazing owner is truly one of the nicest and most fun-loving people I know! What a joy it is for me to pop in and see what new items she has to offer! I am always greeted with such warmth and it brings on the excitement to explore new items or favorite old ones`!! I leave Mary`s shop so uplifted and full of new ideas`or interesting/rare earrings of which I have many!! Lately due to an injury I have missed going in but I shall reconnect soon!! Mary and her clever shopping in Europe are a rare treat and not to be missed.....the best!!

i dont think i would buy anything here, its way over priced. lovely shop and owner however.. if u can afford to buy from here. go for it.

Mary and her team will both create and collaborate with you to make the most stunning piece of jewellery that you'll own. The semi-precious gemstones are amazing and you'll leave with a unique, custom-designed set of earrings, necklace or bracelet. Their work is one-of-a-kind and pretty special.

This is one of my favorite shops in town! They have really really beautiful jewellery and if you cant find exactly what you're looking for they will help you create custom pieces (thank you!). Their stuff is quality, but their prices aren't crazy like other stores can be. And the staff is so friendly, it almost feels like when you go to a hairdresser and just grab lol. Plus if they aren't busy they will make it for you right there and then!

As a jewellery designer and maker in Vancouver I wish I lived closer to this shop which sources and sells beautiful, unique stones, beads and findings in Victoria BC. The owner and staff are helpful and knowledgeable and it’s most definitely one of my favourite shops to visit when I’m in Victoria.

Mary and her team are amazing! If you want a one of a kind piece of jewelry Skanda is the place to go or you can also pick from their already designed pieces. The Skanda team will graciously lead you through the process of designing your piece and then choosing all the precious stones and silver, bronze or gold findings. It is truly a wonderful store and you will come away refreshed and satisfied. Love you Mary and team you’re fantastic!

I've been visiting and shopping at SKANDA for years and have never had anything but amazing input, help and service. When I moved here from NYC, I took one of their amazing classes and began my new passion of designing and making jewelry. Can't think of any other shop that has the breadth and depth of beautiful pre-made jewels and stones/findings from around the world. Would recommend to any visitor to or resident of Victoria!
