Polson Park is located near the heart of Vernon, adjacent to Highway 97 and Highway 6. The park was established in 1908 when Samuel Polson donated a large parcel of land to the city. Located in the park is the Lawn Bowling Club, the Interior Space and Science Centre, the Arts Council and Vernon Heritage Hall.Polson Park is probably best known for the Floral Clock that was installed in 1958. The date is changed daily and it provides a great photo with its colourful background. Further into the park you will find the Japanese Garden, which was donated by the Japanese Community and the Chinese Pagoda, which was donated by the Chinese Community. Both were constructed in 1967 as Centennial Projects. The Rose Garden, a perennial favorite and also a Centennial project, is located in the south east of the park. Specific areas of the park can be reserved for your special event such as weddings, social gatherings and concerts.

Just moved to Vernon, and one of our favourite places to visit is this park. It is great for a stroll through light forest along the river. Large grass fields and lots of benches for relaxing, picnics and so on

What a spectacular place to relax in the middle of the busy city. Lots of wildlife to hear: birds chirping in the trees, squirrels chattering in the trees, leaves of the trees rustling in the breeze, so peaceful, so serene. I enjoyed my bagged lunch...More

Absolutely beautiful park... But unfortunately the homeless have ruined it. They use the washrooms in the morning and leave it terrible. They have also tried to shower in the water park..when young children where trying to play. On a brighter note..the flowers are beautiful well...More

Visited on a sunday to see kids splashing in the fountains, couples walking and hundreds of ducks. A nice green space in the heart of Vernon

Polson Park has been and still is a nice place to visit, but I'm just wondering how long will this park last? Personally it makes me so angered that they allow homeless people to live there, I mean that is what the homeless shelter is...More

Truly is a beautiful little park, but with the homeless people, drug users, and randoms hanging around, I would not recommend this lovely place to anyone! The city should be ashamed.

This park has been around for many decades. Great for weddings and such. Despite the last number of years the problem with vagrants and the police and or bylaw or government won't do anything about. We still enjoy going for picnics and filming. Still ok...More

The park is filled with a number of attractions like decaying outbuildings, mentally ill people, drug addicts, bird poop and random human feces. Won't ever come here again.
