Polson Park

Polson Park, Vernon: Address, Phone Number, Polson Park Reviews: 4/5

About
Polson Park is located near the heart of Vernon, adjacent to Highway 97 and Highway 6. The park was established in 1908 when Samuel Polson donated a large parcel of land to the city. Located in the park is the Lawn Bowling Club, the Interior Space and Science Centre, the Arts Council and Vernon Heritage Hall.Polson Park is probably best known for the Floral Clock that was installed in 1958. The date is changed daily and it provides a great photo with its colourful background. Further into the park you will find the Japanese Garden, which was donated by the Japanese Community and the Chinese Pagoda, which was donated by the Chinese Community. Both were constructed in 1967 as Centennial Projects. The Rose Garden, a perennial favorite and also a Centennial project, is located in the south east of the park. Specific areas of the park can be reserved for your special event such as weddings, social gatherings and concerts.

Parking All Around
Sep. 2020
This park has several sections that cater to different park activities. With parking area all around that is an added convenience. A quick pit stop to say hello to the birds is always nice activity to break the day.

It was lovely to stroll through this beautiful park; I was touched by the memorial to Duchess the Swan. However the pond's water level was very low and murky. Be aware of sketchy people skulking about in the evening hours.

very pretty area for a lunch or stroll but avoid the area in the evening and the skateboard area. Seems to be a hang out for those who have no place to go lots of sketchy activity

Beautiful town park

I was impressed by how well kept the flower beds and grassy areas in this park are. There are also other facilities for the whole family- water park, playground, outdoor stage, tennis courts, running track etc.

Homeless camps and grounds dirty with garbage, old blankets and needles. Sad to see what used to be a beautiful park is now unsafe.

Very nice green space in city
Aug. 2019
This is a great green space and place to take a break from the heat and sun in Vernon. Nice gardens, and layout. Sometimes there are homeless or sketchy 'campers' in the treed areas, so just be aware of your surroundings. Very nice place to still visit.
