About
IMPORTANT: We practice catch & release for ALL trips. Under NO exceptions do we keep fish to bring home to eat. Minimum age requirement of 16. All guests MUST weigh between 100-260 lbs (45-118 kgs) due to limited equipment at this time. After picking you up from your accommodation in Whistler we will get you looking like a local BC angler by putting you in a pair of waders and boots. This allows you to get into the water and stay completely dry! Depending on the time of year, you may catch Rainbow Trout, Bull Trout or Cutthroat Trout and your experienced fishing guide will select a water body that will give you the best chance of catching one of these species. Because of this, you may be fishing in a small stream, river or lake. Our thought process is simple. Drive less and fish more to maximize your time out on the water fishing. There are plenty of lunkers a short drive from the Whistler village.

Matt, the owner and guide, is quite the expert in fly fishing. Clearly he loves the sport. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. We had no experience in fly fishing and he had infinite patience with us. Make sure you answer his emails in order to have well fitting gear that he supplies as well as licenses you will need to buy in advance. All the trout is released. My daughter caught the only good sized trout and had a blast doing it. The scenery is beautiful. We clearly need more practice to feel comfortable catching fish this way but loved the introduction.

Matt was an amazing guide. He’s well prepared, knowledgeable, on-time, patient and a great teacher. He picked us up from our hotel and took us to two different fishing spots. We caught about ten fish and had a blast. I would recommend Matt to anyone looking for a fun, memorable experience.

I did 3hr late afternoon trip with Matt. After a lifetime of fishing I had never cast a fly until my trip with Matt.I caught multiple Rainbow trout and Cutthroat. Matt was very knowledgeable, passionate and most importantly patient with a novice flycaster. The whole experience was 10/10 from the hotel pickup and the equipment supplied. I thoroughly recommend. Thanks Matt. Luke - Australia.

Matthew was amazing, taking us to beautiful places, while taking the time to teach us with a lot of patience and a wonderful energy.

The scenery was spectacular, the experience great: it was the best part of my stay in Whistler.

We took this tour 3 years ago and had a fantastic experience. Matt is the owner and guide. He is extremely knowledgable and patient with new fly fishers. We had a wonderful time and my husband caught quite a few trout. I was practicing and caught a few babies, but the experience of being on a beautiful lake in your waders half way up your body is so satisfying. It's the best, but make sure to do the earliest tour, you have the best chance at catching fish.

Our family recently vacationed in Whistler and we had an amazing experience with Matt and Whistler Year-Round Fishing. It was the first time fly fishing for all of us and Matt made everything so easy and fun for us! He picked us up at the hotel, provided waders, boots and poles, took us to a beautiful fishing spot, patiently taught us how to fly fish--and all three of us caught rainbow trout! Wow--I cannot say enough about how fantastic this experience was!!!! Thank you so much to Matt and Whistler Year-Round Fishing!

I did the 3-hr morning trip. Stunning location, everyone in the group caught fish and it was the perfect amount of time to allow you to make the most of Whistler with the rest of your day. Also, they limit the group size (3 people in ours) so you get plenty of individual attention from Matt, the guide, if you need some coaching.
