We had hoped to spot a near or two, but no such luck, though given all of the warning signs about bears makes you wonder if it is a good thing to meet one! Good walk, well maintained paths and some great toilets at the near end.Visited May 2023Written May 16, 2023

It can get quite crowded in the summers with the bathers but there are shaded areas to sit and relax. It makes for a refreshing change from the hustle and bustle of Whistler villageVisited May 2023Written May 28, 2023

Take a stroll and paddle here or just visit a dock or the beachClean restrooms, nicely marked path all the way around . Runners , dog walkers and bikers paradise . It was a misty morning when we walked here.. water as smooth as glass. Peaceful setting , new decking on dock that smelled great. Has a small beach, some decent facilities, though no food I could see (BYO). Absolutely lovely swimming here. - ic7_2000Vancouver, Canada942 contributionsA place to re-chargeLess than 10 minutes drive from Whistler Village, it’s extremely convenient. You can enjoy the lovely trail and beach. It is one of the four lakes in Whistler. Remember, the main road to the lake is closed. Cars cannot enter. You need to walk or take a bike. This journey was still memorable. It is suitable to family with young kids too. There are free shuttle buses to Lost Lake from main village. In summer, we luckily came across the great migration of precious toad of British Columbia. Nice experience.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten July 29, 2023

Wow, found this whilst trail running. Great underlating 1.8k gravel circuit round lake. Lovely and quiet at 0700 apart from a few runners and dog walkers.
3 laps and to and from village made a safe 10k bear free trail.

During our one-day trip to Whistler's, the call of nature lured us to follow our noses and do some exploring. Lost Lake (and park) had all the attractiveness to beckon us and so we sallied forth. Oh what a heavenly outing! At every turn, something wonderful grabbed us by our sensory-perceptions and hooked us in.
The walk to the Lost Lake took us through such lovely natural views that we never thought about turning back, ever. Along our walk, the creek was such a turquoise-colored stream that had to have been kissed by gypsum or limestone. Haven't seen anything that beautiful since the lakes in Croatia (Plitvice Lakes) and may not see again.
The underpass mural is an other-worldly composition with a message that is not apparent but it is colorful and looks to represent water (creek) running, trees on the landline, and maybe space craft descending to earth? So much to ponder here.
Lost Lake was a fun adventure to eventually reach. However, in my past, I have had encounters with those marine-creatures the caution sign talks about (larvae). They do burrow into your skin and come out whenever the mood strikes them. I found using Vaseline seals them off and smothers them. We had them in Wisconsin's lakes, too.
However, the cautions did not deter people from enjoying the lake and what a beautiful lake it was! It was the perfect place for locals to enjoy a hot summer day.
Nature and its creatures are important to Canadians and here the education was aimed at understanding the local little toads who try their darndest to cross the paths without getting squashed. And we need to know about the animals who call this their home. And work to avoid them as many have big teeth and sharp claws. And weigh a lot. More than us.
During this visit to Whistler, this may very well have a highlight of our all-too-brief day trip. Loved the setting, with all the trees, grass, and nature; it was something memories are made of.

Had a nice walk around the lake one morning. Nice pleasant experience and not a demanding walk. Would recommend.

Is this place wheelchair accessible? I wanted to take my mother here who can barely walk. What are my options?

I would say no. It is a very long journey and it is all dirt path. Much of it is not smooth. There are inclines and places where the wheelchair would probably just take off downhill. There would not be much to see from her level either. The trees obscure much of the lake as it is so anyone shorter than about 5 feet would see even less. It is more of a trek/hike than a trip to see a lake. You get peeks of the lake through the trees and you cannot get anywhere close to the lake. There is no where to sit down either. If you go without her, unless you are prepared for a very - I mean very long and exhausting trip back, go back exactly the way you came.

how do you get to the lost lake without a car from the whistler village? How long is needed there to explore?
thanks

There are maps available at the Whistler tourist office that show how to walk to the entrance. There are sidewalks so it's safe and easy. There are lots of trails in the woods around the lake so you could spend a few hours exploring, including on snowshoes in winter.
