I went here with a group of nine friends. A fellow named Dom checked us in and immediately made us feel unwelcome by insisting that we pay for the remaining spots in our tee times loudly in the pro shop. He said he could have sold the spots but the groups on either side of us were not full (2 and 3 per). His approach to this problem was an example of some of the worst customer service I have ever received. He wasn’t trying to work with us or hear our side of it. We had to speak to his manager to get a more reasonable approach. Some of the golfers in our group weren’t as experienced as others and one group was rudely talked to by the course liaison to speed up of get kicked off. I expect a lot better when paying top dollar for an afternoon of golf. I will not be back.

Upon arrival we asked the greeting attendant Zoey if we could leave our clubs in the back of the truck and take our power carts to the truck to unload. We were told that the power carts will shut down if taken into the parking lot. This turned out to be a lie. We were followed into the parking lot and the attendants unloaded our clubs and carried them to the pro shop. Upon registration we were told that there was no to be no outside liquor brought onto the course. We admitted that our bags had some beer and that we would return them to the truck. We took the power carts to the truck that was in the parking lot without them shutting down and took our beer out of our bags. I do not appreciate being lied to especially when I am paying $250 for a round of golf. For the first few holes we were being consistently monitored by the various marshals as the employee in the pro shop was directing them to be on the look out for us as we might still have liquor in our bags. At the turn I bought four Budweiser's for $31.50 plus tip and we hardly saw the marshals after that. Later Zoey came by on a power cart and stopped at my power cart and looked at my opened can of beer. She then stated that I brought outside beer on the course as they do not sell Budweiser. I was shocked and when I protested by telling her I bought the beer on the turn she simply drove away without an apology or conversation. I am 66 years old and have golfed my entire life including many courses around the world. This is the worst customer service on any of the courses I played. In my opinion this is a managerial issue at this course as opposed to an individual problem. I wonder what Mr. Nicklaus would say if he knew that a course that carries his name treated their customers in this fashion? This type of treatment sure took away from my experience on an otherwise nice course.

Course is nothing special but well kept. But customer service is not great.
There was a team of grounds staff fishing balls out of a lake on the 10th and we had to shoot over them. Pro shop staff said it was midweek so it happens. Pretty dismissive. Also half way house was not prepared with much in the way of lunch options.
Would not recommend playing here. So many other better and nicer places to play nearby.

Our day on the course was fantastic. I always enjoy when play keeps pace which it did. We were never waiting. It's challenging enough for those looking to test their game but enjoyable for those less skilled. Just enough strategically placed water and sand but not too much. It's a flat course with wide fairways which is unusual for a mountain course and something I appreciate. The two bear cubs who crossed in front of us on the second hole didn't mind us being in their space. The price was better than other courses in the area and certainly the best value.

Golfed here and was not overly impressed in many ways. Service was lacking compared to the Fairmont that we golfed at the previous day. No towel were provided, coolers had to be filled with ice ourselves (would be nice to know) and pro shop staff were not friendly or outgoing at all. Their attitude seemed different for members. I’m paying $420 to golf (for 2) I should also get some respect. GPS system on the carts are horrible … you can’t gauge distance to hazards etc. Patio and restaurant staff were excellent. Golf course itself is a bit boring and the scenery is definitely not that great (again compared to Fairmont). Would not play it again and would not recommend it to others.

I just returned from 3 amazing Rounds at Nicklaus North. The golf course is in incredible shape and the pizza after the round was even better. Make sure to get there for a round before they close for the season as the course is perfect.

My friends and I played Nicklaus North this past weekend, and while we all had a great time on the golf course, our experience with the golf cart staff and management was absolutely horrible to say the least.
The round started with our outside alcohol being seized. Okay, that's understandable, rules are rules.
The staff and management were even nice enough to agree to put the seized alcohol in a cooler full of ice for us to take home when we leave. Sounds good.
HOWEVER; we only received less than half of our beer back.
Bottles were smashed, and cans were punctured. plus the beers that were straight up missing.
AND they replaced whiskey with water in two of our flasks. I repeat, whisky with water.
all of which I can only assume was STOLEN BY THE STAFF.
How absolutely LOW of the staff and management to let that happen. This is supposed to be a world class facility in a world class city. But showed no class what so ever when lying to customers faces and stealing from the very costumers who paid nearly $1200 in green fees.
ABSOLTELY SHAMEFULL...with that said, all 8 of us, will never golf at Nicklaus North again. The management did nothing to help the situation even after I called the next day to complain. WORST SERVICE EVER!
There are much nicer golf courses in the Whistler area with much nicer staff service

My son in law were paired with 2 members on the morning of August 8th. Upon pro shop check in and at the starter shack we were told they expected a 4 hour round... Okay... got it. After 3-4 holes the members were told to speed things up. Then again after another 2 holes, and again at 11. Note that the members were approx. 20 and 30 handicappers and we are 3 and 12. The 20 walked and the 30 rode plus they played from different tees than us. The 20 took 7 shots to extract from a bunker on a par 3 so you can see where the delay really was. Nonetheless, we were constantly on the clock and felt pressured to rush everything. Eventually, a member foursome behind us called the pro shop to complain about our group--interesting that members are calling in about fellow members... a red flag here.
On the 15th hole, the marshal was in the fairway next to my tee ball, I proceeded to pull my shot left of the green and commented to him what a tough approach that shot was... his comment: well I guess you better hurry up and hit it again and then he proceeded to tell me we were about 18 minutes behind. I wanted to unload on him but held it together. Then, on the 17th Green he told me we were 20 minutes behind... THE SEVENTEENTH GREEN! he says this again to me. Then as I was hitting my pitch to the green he walked in my line of sight and planted some signage green side and I proceeded to chunk it in the bunker. I was on fire at that point and went off on him. This basically ruined our round and experience. We went back into the pro shop after finishing in 4:21 and was going to speak to the GM--it was then I saw on the wall a very large flat screen with the course layout and cart icons scattered about... it appeared that carts behind the 4 hour pace were shown in Red... It was like a slow play command center. I have never seen a resort course or any course for that matter so obsessed with time.
Comments:
1. If you are going to open your club to visitors that have never seen the course then a 4 hour round is not reasonable. Members know the course/greens, give more putts, and generally play faster. Top destination courses such as Pinehurst, Bandon Dunes, Whistling Straits expect on average 4.5 hours. Chambers Bay tells you it will take 5 hours to play their course. You guys need a reality check here or shut it down to visitors.
2. I was going to book a client golf trip to Whistler, but if all the courses are this obsessed with 4 hour rounds then we will go elsewhere. I'm not going to subject them to on course harassment (sorry, but that's what it felt like).
3. We had hoped for a great golf experience but unfortunately that was ruined. Turning rounds over in 4 hours and ticking visitors off is obviously more important to them.
4. Nice layout and I wish I could have take a few pics along the way but that would have been a violation of sorts, so I didn't.

The course was in excellent condition, the weather was beautiful and we were looking forward to showing off the course to our guests from California. We began 20 minutes after the group (a threesome) ahead of us. At the 10th hole, we stopped to buy sandwiches and drinks. The group behind us, who were a threesome in carts, caught up and waited for the first time. The player assistant asked us if we could pick up our pace as we were 20 minutes behind our time. We did pick up the pace but the player assistant came back to us again at the 11th hole and told us very rudely that he was sending out carts for us and that we had to skip the 12th hole so that we didn't hold up the group behind. We ended up finishing the round in 4hours and 15 minutes (walking, no carts) and the group behind us did not catch up to us after the10th hole. The player assistant was successful in ruining what should have been a wonderful day. It was a very unpleasant experience and certainly was not the way to showcase Nicklaus North. I would not recommend Nicklaus North and would suggest that golfers choose another course in Whistler.

The terrace had been recommended to us and did not disappoint. Located on the shores of Green Lake with a nice view over the 16th and the majestic mountains in the background. We had hiked over from Blackcomb and very much enjoyed a glass of wine and a delicious pastrami sandwich big enough for both of us to share. Very nice staff too, highly recommended.
