Hello Lauren C,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are very pleased to hear that you were informed of our work with rescue dogs, which is a very important aspect of our operation. We have had an unseasonably warm winter in Whistler and with a lack of freezing temperatures in the valley, a smell of urine can sometimes be noticed, though we continually work to address this issue. Our dogs only spend about 15 minutes on drop-lines so that we can give each one a physical examination and a bowl of soup. Each of our dogs have their own unique personality and choose to express themselves in their own way, sometimes this excitement can be interpreted as aggressive behavior. We are sorry if this made you feel uncomfortable in any way. Although we may not want our house pet barking so much, we encourage energy and excitement before a run. Whistler is an international community and there can sometimes be a small language barrier between guests and their guide, though we endeavor to provide a high level of service at all times. We always try to offer the option of guiding your sled for a short time, with the assistance of your musher, though this is not compulsory and you always have the option to stay seated if you prefer.
Thank you again for your feedback and we hope you had a wonderful time in Whistler.
