You turn up at an out-of-the-way golf clubhouse by the river, and spot Eric drinking his first coffee of the day.
He sits you down and gets you to fill out the disclaimers - quite a gruff, no-nonsense sort of chap but with - you gradualy realise - a great sense of humour. You put on lifejackets, get bitten by mossies, wander down to the riverside and a rickety wooden jetty, climb into the jetboat, a short safety briefing and have just the best fun for about an hour.
Eric knows his stuff - the river, wildlife, and (importantly) how to pilot a jetboat. We didn't see too much wildlife but that wasn't the main reason for taking this trip - we had already had one or two safaris and float trips further east.
He tells you stories as you start heading (slowly, at first) upriver. After a while he opens the throttle and you zoom, glide and bounce through the rapids. This thing can turn on a sixpence, as he shows you on several occasions. Occasionally we drift, or he "hovers" pointing upstream whilst idling.
Then it's a stricter safety briefing before the much faster and bumpier trip back downstream.
Throw in the scenery, gorgeous weather (at the time), a few thrills and big grins all around. A great experience, highly recommended.

Very different view of the Whistler and Pemberton region, sort of like the Jungle Cruise on steroids. Our guide, Eric, was super knowledgeable about the area, geography and wildlife. We say two black bears and moose, eagles, herons, and osprey also very common to come across. Perhaps the trip at just under one hour is a little shorter than anticipated but well worth the short drive up to Pemberton from Whistler.

Eric was an amazing guide. Not liking the water much I was hesitant to go. But the family went and it was amazing. Eric was great about explaining everything from what was coming up next, what to expect, wildlife, how the river works and humidity :). I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and felt at ease the entire ride. Beautiful scenery and quiet as you are the only boat out there. Would highly recommend this tour.

What a beautiful day yesterday. Definitely worth the drive from Whistler. Eric was a experienced guide and whole adventure was seamless. I recommend for all ages. Great patio on golf coarse to have a drink after and enjoy the views! 👌

Our guide alternated seamlessly between giving us great photo opportunities and ripping up the river in ways I didn't know a boat could. Exhilarating and worth every penny.

Booked a special 4 hr trip to the very south end of Lillooet and Little Lillooet lakes. In addition to fantastic BC scenery, Eric was full of information and history about the topography, development of the region and First Nations history.
We saw ancient First Nations pictographs, remnants of ancient development and heard about the thriving trade route through the valley and beyond through Darcy before the Fraser Canyon route was opened up.
This was our first trip, but it won’t be the last, to see spectacular scenery and some of the best northern farming country in the world.

This is a short 30 minute ride north on 99 to Pemberton from Whistler. The dock for the jet boat is right next to the club house. This was a great ride with beautiful mountains in the background. The boat was fast and turned on a dime. We went up the river to Nairn Falls against the rapids. Very exciting. Then we went with the rapids. Our boat driver was great. He also shared info about the area pointing out a bald eagle and ospry nests. Highly recommend the ride. My family loved it.

The tour starts from a golf course just outside of Pemberton and only a short 30 min drive from where we were staying in Whistler.
We were early, so had drinks at the golf club restaurant - we didn’t eat but the food looked great and was reasonably priced.
Our Captain (Eric) brought the previous tour in and then we completed the waivers, put on life jackets, got the safety brief and then we were off.
The scenery was incredible throughout and we stopped a few times for Eric to tell us something interesting or point something out - like a baby bald eagle still in the nest!
The high octane elements were exhilarating but never did we feel at risk - Eric has a great demeanour and was always in control.
Great trip out with a top guy - the only thing we might have done different was have lunch at the golf club.
Thanks Whistler Jet-boat Team!
