Super friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable staff! Also definitely the cleanest and most sanitised gym I’ve been in Canada. Staff and members are always on top of it!!

My daughter and I contacted The Core to inquire about a private, guided outdoor climbing trip during our recent visit to Whistler. I have been climbing for 22 years but had not been outside for 12 years, while my 15 year old daughter has been climbing indoors for a year. Bob Allison the owner and a Whistler rock climbing legend respond within a few hours with a customized trip plan to help my daughter transition to outdoor climbing while helping me brush up on safely building anchors, rappelling etc. Bob was an awesome instructor, both encouraging and challenging us and by the end of the day we had climbed 10 routes on 3 different crags. Bob’s attention to detail and safety focus was great for my daughter to see and a great thing for her to build on as she gains experience. My daughter is now officially hooked on outdoor climbing and is already asking me when we can put our new found skills to the test! Wether you have never climbed and want to give it a try or are a “gym rat” looking to learn how to climb outdoors, I would strongly recommend reaching out to Bob and his team at The Core.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Robin at The Core - my 5 year old had a great time climbing with a private lesson! Quick checkin & professional staff. If you’re in Whistler with the family and are looking for something fun to do with the kids I would highly recommend! Thanks again! M&J

Such a great find in the heart of Whistler Village. Awesome Front Desk Staff and Climbing Instructors. Everyone made us feel so welcome and Robin was amazing with our 5 year old daughter who he taught to climb on this trip. Her new found love of climbing was encouraged by all the staff and the owner who we met during our time at CORE. This please is superb + safe for kids to climb, adult area looked challenging as well. Great Place to spend time with family and friends. Even had a couple of play dates there. We will be back. Thanks again Anyssa, Bob and of course Robin for showing us the ropes...Literally ;)

Happy to hear your daughter enjoyed her time climbing at the Core. Thanks for the positive feedback and hope to see the whole family climbing on your next visit - maybe even a trip outdoors onto the real rock with one of our qualified guides!
