About
Located above Whistler Village on the side of Blackcomb Mountain, the Whistler Sliding Centre is a world-class bobsleigh, skeleton and luge facility. Public visitors can try Whistler's most unique activities, passenger bobsleigh (winter and summer) and public skeleton (winter). Aspiring athletes can join "Learn to Slide" programming for all skill levels in bobsleigh, skeleton and luge within the BC Sliding Development Centre. The facility is also a National Training Centre and popular training and competition venue for athletes from all over the world. Each year, races for all levels from beginners to the elite of sliding athletes, such as World Cups and World Championships are held on the Olympic legacy venue. Year-round, Olympic Sightseeing is available free of charge through a self-guided interpretive tour. The Whistler Sliding Centre is a non-profit organization, and all proceeds from public programs go directly towards growing sport and supporting current and future athletes!

Summer Bobsleigh - MUST Do!
Jul. 2021 • Couples
We had an amazing time on our tour and would 100% recommend this activity to anyone travelling to Whistler. Our guide, Jim, was very knowledgable and it was interesting to learn about bobsleigh, and have the opportunity to walk part of the track before getting in the bobsleigh. I didn't realize how few training facilities existed worldwide and that this facility is the only one currently operational in Canada. It made the experience that much more interesting!

We also liked that Whistler Sliding Centre is a not-for-profit, and revenues generated from tours help subsidize athletes' training. The tour lasted a little over an hour and our actual bobsleigh ride took about a minute, hitting speeds of 90km/h. You could feel the g-force as we picked up speed, especially around the last few corners. Our guide, Jim, piloted the bobsleigh and also had a GoPro mounted on his helmet, with footage available for purchase after for $25. You can't use your own GoPro, but again with this being a not-for-profit, we didnt mind paying the extra. Overall, a very cool, rare experience that we're so happy we tried out!

Fantastic summer bobsleigh experience!
Jul. 2021
My teenage son and I did the summer passenger bobsleigh this week and it was absolutely fantastic. A great combination of learning about the sport, track, and how things work, combined with an adrenalin rush! Super nice people; all the money goes to support the sport and the track, so great cause as well. It's a "must do" if you're in Whistler; you won't regret it.

Once in a lifetime experience.
Jul. 2021 • Family
I really didn't know what to expect. When my wife said "we could go down the bobsled track" I thought it would be too good to be true. Well, I was wrong. What an experience. How many places could you ACTUALLY get into a bobsled and go down the track? We hit 92 km/hr in the thing. Just for the record, my wife and I beat our two teenage sons' time. Don't mean to brag or anything.

Bobsleigh run
Sep. 2020 • Couples
My Wife and I did the summer bobsleigh run and it was fantastic. The staff were all great, the walkthrough of the track was interesting and the ride was the best thing we did in Whistler. Also the money paid goes to help athletes with their costs.

Great time!
Sep. 2020
What an awesome time we had! Our tour guide Snowy was funny and informative. We were there an hour and the whole thing was interesting and enjoyable. The actual ride itself is less than a minute but such an incredible thrill! I'm not huge into adrenaline but absolutely loved the whole experience. Absolutely worth it to buy the go-pro video at the end, such a cool keepsake.

Just gotta do it, so fun
Mar. 2020
Husband 57 myself 57 and daughter 15 did the 4 man bobsled while in Whistler in March. My husband was just going along but not too crazy about it. Of the 3 of us he enjoyed it the most. I was a little nervous about the Gs pulled but it feels like a big roller coaster. The staff is very organized. The whole process takes about 75 minutes start to finish. The ride itself is about 42 seconds. We bought the video which has a view of the track and a view of the riders. We felt safe too for those worried about speeding down " the fastest track in the world" at up to 75mph. Daughter thought it was fun too but not as exciting as her bungee jump earlier in the week so if doing that maybe do a slide first and then the bungee jump. I loved it too. Not sure if we'd do it again only because we've had the experience and checked that box but all 3 of us highly recommend doing the bobsled run when in Whistler.

Slide down an Olympic track in a skeleton, luge, or bobsled! This was so much fun! My mom and I did the luge and we both loved it! It was really easy and really cool to go that fast!

Great experience

Starts almost gently but by the end you know you have had a one off adrenalin high. The pilot etc, tell it all straight with no punches pulled. Would recommend as one to tick off the bucket list.
