About
Located above Whistler Village on the side of Blackcomb Mountain, the Whistler Sliding Centre is a world-class bobsleigh, skeleton and luge facility. Public visitors can try Whistler's most unique activities, passenger bobsleigh (winter and summer) and public skeleton (winter). Aspiring athletes can join "Learn to Slide" programming for all skill levels in bobsleigh, skeleton and luge within the BC Sliding Development Centre. The facility is also a National Training Centre and popular training and competition venue for athletes from all over the world. Each year, races for all levels from beginners to the elite of sliding athletes, such as World Cups and World Championships are held on the Olympic legacy venue. Year-round, Olympic Sightseeing is available free of charge through a self-guided interpretive tour. The Whistler Sliding Centre is a non-profit organization, and all proceeds from public programs go directly towards growing sport and supporting current and future athletes!

Really enjoyed getting an insight into the track and the building and running of it and then enjoyed the experience of a ride which brought to life what we have seen on TV on the OOOOO. Friendly staff and what's more the money helps new athletes train.

Very interesting and fun experience for adults and older teens. You get to walk through the bobsleigh track and then jump on one bobsleigh to do a run down. The run is intense but fun. Not 5 stars because customer service could be better. For example, my wife didn't do the ride but when she asked about watching us come down, the manager just said no, and then another employee did mention she could walk around and go to a watching area, sightseeing the complex is allowed and free, btw.

We had a fantastic time at the Sliding Centre, our guide and pilot were very knowledgeable. It was very fascinating to learn about how the track was built and maintained. The ride down was exhilarating! We would definitely do it again, maybe this time in the Winter!

So, so, so, so, so much fun! Our family had a blast, It was such an unusual outing, and on the fastest bobsled course in the world. What an experience! We booked without knowing much, but thinking how fun to go bobsledding in the summer. Once you get there and check in, the intro overview needs some help - they started with all the the things that can go wrong, and little information about the special experience until you take the shuttle ride to the top of the course where the tour starts and you learn about the sport. Their intro said you'd never do it again, and by the end of the ride, we all got off our ride saying "let's do it again!" Rhyse was so great as our driver. We loved it!

This is an activity to get your blood pumping and increase your heartrate. Enjoyable and educational. Learned about bobsleigh, luge and skeleton.
This is the fastest track in the world apparently.
The modified cars (on tires) are larger than the real cars. You go down with a driver from the outfit. It felt safe enough (helmets are provided) while still providing thrill seekers with a cool experience.
I am not sure I would run back again but was glad to check it off the list.

We will never forget this experience. It was so much fun and everything is very well run and safe. Staff are exceptional - from the check in process to the safety orientation to the tour of the track by a young athlete to the cow bell send off to the actual bobsleigh experience with a fantastic pilot. The ride itself is less than a minute but the whole process was almost 2 hours for us. We got to a speed of just over 90km/hr. The pilot wears a go pro and you can purchase a video of your ride for $30. We did. Proceeds all go to supporting the athletes. Kids are free with a paying adult.

Was really great. A bit scary but in the end very glad we did it. Sitting in front is the ultimate experience.
Not cheap but the money goes fully to the education of young sportier. We bought the two videos of the ride - also not cheap but compared to other activities what they charge for some simple pictures (white water rafting asked 40 CAD for bad quality fortos) it was definitely worth it.

It was a very informative and exciting experience. Walking the course was great and the ride even better! We hit 93 km/hr which was the perfect speed for us.

Is there a copy of the waiver that needs signing? We can't find a travel insurance policy which will cover bobsleighing

Hello, our winter season will go until March 31, 2019, so there will unfortunately be no rides available on April 17, 18 and 19.
Our summer season, with summer bobsleigh, will commence in June.

Bobsled!
How can I go there in Whistler village? Does it need lift tickets? Can I go there by foot?

Hello Seunghyun, in the winter, you can access the Whistler Sliding Centre via the "Excalibur Gondola". The gondola is free for foot passengers (without ski gear). From the gondola mid station it is about a 10 minute walk to our venue. Other options are public transit or by car/taxi, you can find more information on our website.
I want to book things for winter( maybe January 7th). When can I start to book? And also when do the deals such as Groupon available?

As stated, the earlier the better for booking any activity at Whistler during ski season...
We try to book rooms as early as possible to get the best rates and location.
Hope you get the date you’re looking for.

I read that the bobsled was now on wheels, not on the actual ice. Can you confirm?

It is ice in the winter and wheels in the summer. I am not sure of the changeover dates; you should call or check the website to confirm.

I didn’t see any children at the time we went, personally I would say it was more of a teenage and above thing, that’s just my personal opinion though maybe have a look at there website. It is great fun, you certainly won’t regret it!

Its open year round and as others have said, ice in winter, wheels in summer which are marginally slower but i would hazard a guess at been just as much fun. We had a blast...I'm sure you will.
