Easy to find info centre at the Gateway loop. The staff are all knowledgeable about all the usual tourist attractions in the area. They were helpful and able to answer all of our questions. This is also where we purchased Peak to Peak tickets.

Always a good starting point when on a town for the first time. This was a challenge for the staff as there doesn’t seem to be a great deal to do in Whistler, But at least they were cheerful people.

The lady was reluctant to give us a piste map and was not very knowledgeable with the questions we asked.
The Volunteer Tourist stand in the town were fantastic and extremely knowledgeable and gave us loads of information.

Got to know about the village with village map and guide. Parking is bit expensive and you get some good advice about the village from the village centre.

When I pulled into Whistler, I had been on the road for hours. Finding this place virtually off the highway was handy. I needed a quick bathroom break and grabbed some local literature to help me find my way around. I stopped here a few times, including the Tim Horton's inside for a muffin for the road when I was heading home. The layout is simple (round), but the site is well-stocked with all you need to plan a trip and no less than three people behind protective shields to offer personalized assistance.

Happy to say Whistler every thing is open and full steam ahead , but due to the pandemic , it is nothing compared to the crowds that used to visit , it is tough for any business in Whistler . I notice a lot place is under staff , they have to change their hours and service , the Visitor Centre ladies very friendly and knowledgeable not a big place next to "TIM's " , great place for maps , information whereto stay , special first time visiting , so stay Positive , keep an open mind and perspective , there is average 200 stores in the village , things are not cheap here , but it is a fun mini get away for few days with the family .

Up to date knowledge from a friendly staff. Best place to get information without a sales pitch. Parking is limited.

What is the typical/average weather during the first two weeks of May? Are we still dealing with snow on the hiking trails by the upper and lower villages?

Hi Bruce. In May, The Hiking trails typically have snow on them, especially any at higher elevations. Whistler in May is fantastic as you can enjoy winter activities in the alpine and summer activities in the Valley as there typically isn't any snow in the valley at that time. Hope this helps.

Riverside RV and campground is the closest to the Whistler trail network. The Calcheak recreation site is also close to some of the trails.
