Best shop in Whistler village. Friendly and helpful staff. A fun vibe. Independent business, unlike many of the shops in the village. Top notch bike rentals and service. This is the premiere place to rent bikes, buy bikes and gear and to get service in Whistler. Exceptionally good.

We had two and half days in Whistler. If the weather suites then our two main recommendations are a Zipline adventure (we used Ziptrek - Excellent) and hiring bikes for a tour of the valley ( we used Evolution - excellent).
Our hotel the Crystal Lodge provided us with bike hire discount voucher for Evolution Whistler which is in the same huge block as the hotel.
The Evolution staff provided us with all the equipment but more importantly helped plan our trip depending on how much time we had available.
We had an incredibly scenic ride taking in Lost Lake , most of Green Lake and then following some some creeks , just exploring. The bike parks a great. Table Nineteen which is located on Green Lake is a great place to stop for morning tea, lunch or a few beers and wines.
Remember to take your camera as the scenery is breathtaking. You can make a day of it if you like. We are both in our sixties and handled the ride easily.
Thoroughly recommend "Evolution Whistler" for you hiring needs.

We hired two santa cruz mountain bikes to explore the trails of whistler. The price was reasonable and the bikes are just so well maintained that they were a real pleasure to ride. After riding the Santa Cruz Bronson I need to now buy one. The mountain bike trails in Whistler are a must!!

I bought a brand new bike through these guys, they built it up for me and gave me a free after build service too! Stoked with the fun and friendly staff, mechanics were professional and really good identifying tiny things with my bike!
I’ll definitley be back! 😘

Living in coastal Southern California, I have plentiful choices for surf skate and mountain bike shops for clothing and equipment. I feel I have become quite the connoisseur of the radical sports kit. But never has a shop had such a memorable impact on me as Evolution, Whistler.
It is no surprise that it is now celebrating over 20 years in business. The buyer that chooses the clothing and equipment that is sold in the store obviously takes great care in knowing the clientele and applies personal taste / outdoors experiences to his/her selection. It is no wonder that it has such a strong and loyal "cult-like" following. The shop rocks!
Just about every 5 years, I make the pilgrimage with family or friends to ski/snowboard Whistler and I always make sure to visit Evolution. I have to imagine that summer is no exception to the popularity of the mountain and the need for a shop like Evolution.
The snowboarding equipment inventory is not like many ski warehouse shops but rather boutique in scale. Due to the small size of the shop, the square footage demands that only the highest quality merchandise be displayed. The same goes for the mountain bike equipment and clothing.
My only complaint is that they don't offer a more diverse selection of "Evolution brand" clothing and gear. I always try and support the "little guy" and would love to show off the Evolution brand. Being in such a tourist destination, this place could capitalize $$$ by carrying a larger selection of souvenir apparel.
Perhaps the scarcity is what makes it that much more special.
I would highly recommend this shop.

HI BarbaricDerek! :)
Thank you for the amazing review!! Wow, you have given me a great boost as i have been buying (everything) for my shop for 22 years now and i wonder sometimes if my taste and picks are as good as they used to be; thank you for confirming that i still have the knack.

Jenine

VERY happy with these guys. Great and timely service. Everyone really loved working there and it showed. Bikes were in absolutely tip-top shape, and they made it super easy to get in and out. And the merch is awesome! Thanks to Ellie, Loudevine, Alex and Grant for helping out! You guys are the best, and I will only use you guys the next time we're in Whistler!
